Opened in 1987, the Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts is one of the few museums in the world dedicated to print art. The museum collects, preserves, and researches Japanese print art from the Nara period to the modern age as well as print art from around the world. The museum also has a studio where you can experience the fun of making print art yourself. Each printmaking course has a specified enrollment period and requires advanced registration.

町田市立国際版画美術館は芹ヶ谷公園内にあります。美術館というと入館料が高いというイメージがありますが、ここの常設展示室は、なんと無料です。しかも一部の作品を除き、写真撮影までOKです。ただ少し残念だったのが、作品保護のため照明を暗くしているので、作品の細かい部分がよく見えませんでした。企画展示室は、展覧会によって料金が変動します。芹ヶ谷公園に来た時には、無料の常設展示室だけでも覗くことをオススメし...
西洋の木版画を見に行きました

こんな所に美術館があったんだと新しい発見でした。2020年11月23日迄でしたが、『西洋の木版画展』を見に行きました。最終日に行きましたが空いていて、じっくり見学が出来ました。写真もフラッシュ無しなら撮影可、ただしある一部のエリアは撮影禁止でした。版画の面白さに引き込まれました。
バスの再開

町田駅前から徒歩12.3分程の美術館ですが、芹が谷公園付近はとても急な坂が多いので、お天気によってはちょっと大変…と思っていたら無料送迎バスが復活してくれたようです。本数はそこまで多くはないですが、とても有難い。
