- Tokyo Meguro-ku Jiyugaoka 1-24-23
- This teahouse and gallery is at the main entrance to Jiyugaoka. Constructed of mulberry wood over 90 years ago, time flows quietly by here and you could forget you're in the city. The window seats looking out on the courtyard are very popular. Inside the shop, dolls and antiques produced by the doll maker Fukuko Watanabe soften the hearts of guests. The menu features classy sweets including the Maccha tea set with seasonal Japanese confectionary, a maccha green tea and bean jam sweet set, and maccha ole with wagashi sweets.

- This veteran Western confectionary was founded in 1933. It's hallmark item is the Mont Blanc cake the shop's named after. Yellow candied chestnut cream is topped with whipped cream resembling the snow-capped peak of Mt. Blanc. It's said to be the first shop to make Mont Blanc cake in Japan. They offer a variety of sweets made with chestnuts, like Mont Blanc for grown-ups that brings out the bitterness of the chestnuts and chestnut roll cakes. There's also a large cafe area, so guests can choose to eat in or take away.
-
Long time guest of Mont Blanc and dear friend took me here recently and we so enjoyed the space and old time feel. 1980s vibe. Tasty cakes with Mont Blanc specialty as well as ice creams and...

- Tokyo Setagaya-ku Komazawa 5-18-7
- Said to have practically created cafe culture in Japan, Bowery Kitchen has an un-affectated, quiet air. A cafe which makes eating a regular meal, drinking a regular cup of coffee, and just regularly being feel special, Bowery Kitchen is the kind of place you'll feel like dropping by whenever. Another nice thing about Bowery Kitchen: lunch is served until 5:00 p.m.

Tokyo Areas
The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
