They also sell items like affogato, sweet vanilla ice cream drizzled with bitter espresso, and cafe frappe, perfect for hot summers. Many tourists stop here for a break while visiting Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine or the Takayama Matsuri Yatai Kaikan.

"This cafe is located a seven-minute drive from the Chuo Expressway's Mizunami Interchange. You can taste fresh home-roasted coffee with the concept of ""fresh and healthy good quality coffee"" and ""a space for relaxation and comfort."" The menu displays four levels of roasting: light roasting with low bitterness, medium roasting with a good balance of sourness, sweetness and bitterness, slightly dark roasting with sweetness in the bitterness and richness, and dark roasting where you can taste the bitter essence of the coffee. It is fun to find your own favorite coffee from among them. In addition, it also holds a coffee workshop where you can learn to make authentic regular coffee at home."

This bakery is located a two-minute walk from Minosakamoto Station. It makes bread using homemade natural yeast in a small log cabin. The bread using Hoshino natural yeast is a popular item packed with the uniqueness of the store. It is recommended to eat it simply while enjoying the fragrant scent. The stone kiln that bakes bread as well as wheat, chestnuts, red beans and yeast was also built by the store. There are many products that you cannot find anywhere else such as panettone with yogurt yeast or bread with strawberry yeast.

    Gifu Hida-shi Furukawacho Ichinomachi 3-10
This art museum uses a machiya (traditional wooden townhouse) in Hida-Furukawa, and is located a five-minute walk from Hida-Furukawa Station. The museum is the shoin style of traditional Japanese residential architecture that exemplifies the skills of Hida's craftsman, and exhibits Japanese paintings from artists such as Taikan Yokoyama and Gyokudo Kawai, and cultural exhibits such as Koimari from the 17th to the 19th century, and Daimyo Hanami Shigeshi from the 18th to the 19th century. There is even a cafe where you can enjoy special sweets, coffee and beef stew while you relax in front of a Japanese traditional garden. The museum is so well integrated into the city landscape that it is almost unnoticeable at first glance, and has won the Scenery Design Award.

A visit to Hineno is exquisite and divine! Not to be missed. Try to sit by the garden window. I recommend trying both the cheesecake and the scone.

A café located right next to Takayama Station on the JR Takayama Main Line. The café is filled with antique furniture and timepieces, and here customers can enjoy a relaxing meal enwrapped in the establishment’s old-fashioned atmosphere and the jazz flowing over the stereo. The café is open from 7:30 a.m. and serves toast and sandwich breakfast set meals. The seasonal fresh fruit juices and cakes created by Michiko (who worked as a pastry chef) are also recommended.

This Japanese-style cafe uses a 180 year-old machiya (traditional townhouse) and is located in Hida Takayama, an area with an old townscape that is an important traditional architecture preservation district. A café located in the Kinboshi Soko building close to Gifu Park at the foot of Mt. Kinka. Customers can get a sweeping view of Mt. Kinka from the café’s huge, movie screen-like windows. One of the best things about the café is the fact that you can choose what you want from the huge menu of diverse coffees covering a broad array of flavors based on your tastes and mood. The café’s traditional French confections, such as tarts made with the highest quality ingredients, are prepared by hand daily. Visitors are encouraged to have a cake set, which comes with their choice of beverage. The café also sells coffee beans, so if there’s a particularly coffee you really enjoy, you can buy the relevant beans and enjoy it at home as well.
