A patisserie and cafe on the first floor of an apartment block in Naka Ward, Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The stylish shop is hard to miss with its red awnings and wooden doors. The white interior has a bright and airy feel. The cake display is full of lots of cakes and sweets made with seasonal fruits such as strawberry, melon and peach. There is seating inside in the relaxed eat-in area and outside on the terrace surrounded by greenery. The shop also serves coffee, tea and alcohol. Customers can enjoy a sophisticated tea time in this pleasant patisserie and cafe, like an oasis in the city.

This is a café in Miyajima, Hatsukaichi City. The café is located in a renovated souvenir wholesale warehouse of the Taisho period and has a serene, retro atmosphere. In the café is a direct-fired coffee bean roasting machine and you can enjoy slowly dripped, wonderful tasting coffee. The set menus with homemade desserts such as the cream cheese cake are popular. The café also sells home roasted coffee beans.

It is a café located by the sea of Onomichi. There are art works on the walls inside the shop painted by artists which change monthly. It is a comfortable space you can relax, enjoy lattes that have an adorable cat picture on top as well as handmade desserts. For both lunches and dinners local produce is used, and the “Yamaneko Lunch”, which has the option of white rice or brown rice, is popular. It is available for parties as well.

Delicious, healthy food -- nice modest portions. Does not seat many, so you may have to wait for them to call you when your table comes available.

This is an open café on the bank in a green area across the river from the Peace Memorial Park. You can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine made from local Hiroshima produce including local brand Hiroshima oysters “kaki komachi” that are available to eat all year round. There is a large choice of sommelier selected wines. The inside of the cafe or seats on the terrace are fashionable—perfect for a date, get togethers, or anniversaries.

Such a pretty restaurant near the Peace Museum and the food was a good as the look of the restaurant. Sat outside under a large white umbrella with fairy lights. Excellent service and very tasty...

A small café located in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The café’s entrance is found along a narrow, stone-paved path on a hill which exudes an atmosphere from a time now past. The owner opened the café in the garden of his own home, and its soothing atmosphere makes it the perfect place to take a break in between a stroll exploring old temples in the area. Cherry blossoms in spring and fall foliage in autumn can be enjoyed from the café’s open air seating area. The café’s indoor seating is situated inside a renovated old warehouse, which also accommodated Onomichi Bunko, a book library displaying rare books such as first editions of the works of novelist Naoya Shiga. Here you can enjoy literature and beautiful rural scenery along with a handmade slice of cake, matcha green tea, or cup of coffee.

A long-standing ice cream shop located along the Onomichi Channel in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture which was established in 1939. In addition to the ice cream sales counter, the shop also has an old-fashioned eat-in space called the Monaka Room. The shop’s signature item is the egg ice cream, the recipe for which was created around 1940s and modeled after a French-style ice cream. People love its smooth creaminess. The shop’s monaka wafer ice cream sandwiches and ice cream zenzai sweet red bean soup are also popular. This famous shop has been featured in many magazines and on numerous television shows.

尾道のにあるアイスクリーム屋さん、からさわです。海沿いの道にあります。休日の夕方、並ばずすぐに購入出来ました。ガイドブックに載っていた名物アイスモナカを購入。優しい甘さのアイスクリーム、凄く好みです。モナカはぱっりと軽くアイスクリームと凄く良く合います。

A gallery and café located on Machiya-dori Street in Miyajima Town, Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture operating out of a remodeled old home of a former rice scoop’s shop. The café space is located beyond the shop area, which sells antique knickknacks. Miyazato’s handmade chiffon cakes and hand drip blend coffee are well-reviewed. An atmospheric inner garden is visible from the café’s tables, and here you can enjoy a relaxing break in between exploring Miyajima. The adjoining rental gallery holds art, calligraphy, and other exhibitions on week to week basis.

Great as always. Friendly old lady with nice menu and a lot of art for sale. Will visit again for sure.

A café operating out of a remodeled old Japanese home in Tsuchido, Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture with a hideaway atmosphere designed around the themes of “exchange” and “dispatch.” Inside, the café has a warm, charming, and old-fashioned atmosphere which encourages unfamiliar travelers to start talking with each other. In addition to sandwiches, the café also offers popular matcha and ryokucha green teas from the local Imagawa Gyokukouenchaho tea shop, and “chaider” made with Goto Spring cider. The shop also sells knickknacks, accessories, and chaider for taking home as a souvenir.

オープンな雰囲気で縁側風の椅子、店内にはソファ席、そしてウッドデッキがあり、どちらの席に座っても風を感じられる気持ちよさそうな雰囲気。オーダー式ではなく、カウンターに注文をしに行きます。おすすめを聞くとチャイダーが人気とのことでした。通る方が店員さんに話かけ、店員さんもフレンドリー。地元の方が集うお店という感じで和やかな雰囲気です。

This is a café located in Sakagura-dori Street near Saijo Station where old sake breweries are gathered. It opens in an old Japanese-style private house which was once the entrance to the small theater called “Kuguri-mon”. The first floor is a shop which sells souvenirs such as self-roasted coffee and sake manju (sweet bun) and on the second floor is a cafe. It is a calm semi-Western space where visitors can enjoy delicious coffee brewed using the same water to make the sake.

The coffee served at the shop is only specialty coffee and the quality has been carefully monitored from production to roasting. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing time while savoring the various fragrance and taste of the light and dark roasted coffee. Visitors can not miss the spectacular view from the outside wood deck of the five-story pagoda and the Senjokaku, the main hall of the Toyokuni Shrine.

え？ここでいいの？という私道のような階段をどんどん登って行った先にあります。道はこの階段しかないようです。五重塔が見える立地で、五重塔を見ながらコーヒーがいただけます。良雰囲気のコーヒーカフェで、450円のスイーツが高クオリティです。

At this tea shop located adjacent to the Sawamura sengu (ship’s fittings) Store established in the Edo period, you can enjoy finely-brewed matcha, ujikintoki milk and coffee in a comfortable space. They also sell ceramics and folk art from Gifu area, and exquisite items from Tomonoura.

鞆の浦の街中散策にぜひお勧めの喫茶店です。コーヒーは注文後に豆から入れてくださり、お店の方もとても親切でお話好きの方でした。古民家を生かした雰囲気なので、日本人にはどこか懐かしい雰囲気のある、ずっと座っていたくなるようなお店でした。

This cafe adjoins the Hill Of Hope, a white marble art park spanning 5,000 square meters. The park and cafe were made using white marble from Carrara in Italy and were designed and named by sculptor Itto Kuetani. The cafe employs a semi-self-serve system in which customers place an order at the cafe’s entrance and bring their own order to their table. Inside, the cafe looks as if it belongs in Italy’s Tuscany region, making its authentic espresso taste even more exceptional. The cafe also offers many unique, regionally-inspired selections, such as lemon squash made with Setoda lemons, and summer mikan sherbet.
