  • Cure Maid Cafe

    Tokyo Chiyoda-ku Sotokanda 3-15-5
"The original maid cafe, this establishment is located in Sotokanda, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. Designed around the concept of being a soothing space, here customers can enjoy authentic cuisine in a relaxing atmosphere. One of the cafe's appeals is the courteous service given to customers, who are treated like the master of a grand estate. Located close to exit A7 of Tokyo Metro Jimbocho Station. This cafe has been a local favorite ever since it first opened in 1955. The totem pole, retro red telephone, and other objects placed outside near the door give off an eccentric atmosphere. Conversely, inside, the cafe resembles a mountain cabin, and the brick walls are covered with graffiti left by patrons, engendering a retro atmosphere. The establishment's dim lighting helps customers to relax and forget the hustle and bustle of the city. One of the most popular items on the menu is the fresh strawberry juice, poured to the glass brim. Made with ripe strawberries and finely crushed ice, it can be enjoyed like a dessert.

A great little getaway! I didnt try the food, but coffee was average for Japan. Had a great range of things on the menu and I regretted not going for a meal. Four different flavours of creaming soda...

This Cafebar, hidden in a back alley of Kagurazaka, makes everything from scratch as much as possible, so one can enjoy the dishes without concern. Their specialty, French toast, is prepared two days in advance, and served gooey soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Served with freshly picked mint grown on the roof directly above the store, the Mojitos are very popular. Organic teas and other directly imported French merchandise is also sold.

This cafe can be identified by its sign made from a single plank of wood cut straight from a tree placed out front. Pass beyond the blue shop curtain hanging in front of the door and climb the steep flight of stairs beyond and you'll be greeted by a relaxing and retro space. The cafe has a soft and soothing atmosphere enhanced by natural wood furniture and accoutrements, and it seems completely removed from the tumult of the city outside. The cafe's standard blended coffee can be ordered to your preferred strength. This coffee also goes great with the cafe's homemade cheesecake and chiffon cake, and will help you forget the time and just enjoy a relaxing break. Unusual for a cafe, the wooden chairs are adorned with elegant zabuton cushions, and the cafe's luxurious-but-not-too-luxurious feel has won it much popularity.

A cafe where you can enjoy authentic coffee. The furnishings are very tasteful and calm. On this day, we had a delicious coffee with cheesecake.

"Outfitted with an irori sunken hearth and decorated with Nihonga Japanese paintings, this cafe embodies the ""Japanese-modern"" design style. Enwrapped in the cafe's retro atmosphere, you can enjoy a cup of choice coffee made with beans roasted onsite. The cafe uses only high quality green coffee beans from a variety of areas, which are then roasted in an open flame roaster. The cafe also offers three original bean blends - the conspicuously full-bodied and bitter Kanda Blend, the sour America Blend, which is lightly roasted and loosely ground; and the France Blend, which has a rich aroma and which is served in a small demitasse cup. Enchanted by the cafe's superb coffees, many coffee-lovers order beans direct from the establishment by email and fax."

This old-fashioned coffee shop is located in front of the University of Tokyo's main gate. The shop interior exudes a sense of warmth, with stucco walls and tables carved from wood that almost make you feel like you've gone back decades in time. The store has a long history dating back to 1952, and their signature dish is their curry rice, made with large chopped potatoes. Customers praise how the special combination of spices make for a mild yet delicious and unique flavor, the kind that you can only find at a cafe. There are many curry enthusiasts who visit from afar to eat here.

Tokyo Areas

around-area-map

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
