Located in the Honmura district of Naoshima Town, Cafe Salon Nakaoku is a secluded, home-like café in a refurbished traditional farmhouse. The café owner is a native-born Naoshima islander. The café is renowned for its coffee, particularly its original-blend coffees with a “fruity” flavor that are the house specialty, but there is also a wide range of alcoholic beverages available. Cafe Salon Nakoku is located about three minutes’ walk from Minamidera with its Art House Project, in which a vacant house has been repurposed as an art museum. The café is a great place to unwind in a relaxing atmosphere.

The setting and atmosphere alone were worth it. The food and service just as good. Best restaurant we visited in Naoshima and probably best in Japan so far

Aisunao is a Japanese restaurant located in a converted traditional house (built around 80 years ago) in the Honmura district of Naoshima Town. The restaurant is easily recognized by the blue entrance curtain featuring a stylized and very cute depiction of a rice bowl. The house specials include a wide range of flavorful dishes featuring organically-grown unpolished rice (with a pleasantly chewy consistency) and vegetables. Many of the dishes served here are suitable for vegetarians and vegans, and the restaurant also offers a range of vegan-friendly desserts made without eggs or dairy products.

If you are vegetarian or vegan, you may have a hard time finding place to eat on Naoshima. But Aisunao serves a good quality food and it’s even vegetarian/vegan. The interior is modern/retro, using...

The retro-modern Kaikosha Cafe with its Western-style architecture and bright, glass walled interior is adjacent to Former Zentsuji Kaikosha, an Important Cultural Property. It's a great place to unwind while you dine. They offer breakfast and lunch, light meals, and desserts. We recommend their sweet and simple home-made donuts prepared with a special variety of local barley daishi-moch-mugi barley.

雰囲気も良く静かでゆっくりできました。気色のよい庭を見ながら「焼きドーナツ」や「偕行社パフェ」を味わえます。ちなみに駐車場は市役所に駐車すれば無料です。駐車場の入口の係員に申告してください。

This shop serves fare they think is so amazing they can’t help putting it on the menu. It’s great whether you're just having a coffee or getting a full meal. They offer hand-made cuisine, a variety of cakes, and seasonal sweets (available from 2:00 p.m.,). Seats are limited, so it's best to make a reservation by the day before at the latest.

This cafe, opened in 1962, is located in Kagawa Prefecture, an area home to numerous structures designed by world famous architects. Considered a sacred destination for future architects, the coffee served in this space where various artists, designers, and creators have been tastes especially delicious.

Wow, the exterior and interior are simply beautiful. Photography is not allowed but its okay - indulge yourself in the feel of a traditional Japanese coffee shop. For lunch, they have set meals...

A cafe located a three-minute walk from Marine Station Naoshima. People love the restaurant's food made with fresh seafood and vegetables and the establishment can be used as a cafe in the daytime and as a bar at night. The cafe also offers takeout perfect for bringing along while taking a walk on the island; enjoy the local sights with a bubble tea or smoothie in hand. The establishment also has a guesthouse with three rooms, making it a great place from which to base your sightseeing activities.

We got here on the later side with a party of 5 and were seated right away. We ordered highballs and cocktails, sashimi, and fried chicken. Everything was delicious. Service was quick and friendly...

My partner loved the burger so much he had to get two (although one is more than enough for a regular person)! Super tasty with extra avacado and cheese. Hash brown also delish

A cafe in operating out of a village government office which served the governor of Kurashiki from the time when Naoshima was under direct imperial control and Hyoemon 21st head of the Miyake clan, was appointed the first headman until the early Meiji period. The two buildings of the cafe, the main building and a row house with a room for guards to live in, have been designated Cultural Properties and groups of 10 or more with an advance reservation can enjoy a meal in the tatami mat room of the main building while gazing at the site's Japanese garden.

Cycled past here in the rain, went in. Delicious curry - only 2 options, veg curry or chicken curry when we went, which suits me just fine. Warm inside, chef and host spoke English well, great music...

Strawberry farm’s Ichigoya is a popular place for strawberry desserts like crepes and shaved ice made with strawberries grown on their farm. They also serve curry rice, making Ichigoya a full-fledged restaurant. Their strawberry roll cake makes a great gift. They are about a five-minute walk from Ieura Port.

いちごパフェ。硯地区から家島地区へ歩いてると途中にいちごづくしのいちご屋の看板が。もう歩き疲れて甘いものが食べたい。店内のテーブルも全部違って手作り感がある小さなお店。地元のいちごを使ったスィーツメニューの写真が壁に大きく貼ってました。ソフトクリームベースのチョコッと食べたい大きさのいちごパフェをチョイス。疲れた身体に優しい甘さ。メニューにはいちごカレーもありました。

This café is in Kitahama Alley, an old warehouse town converted into a retro commercial complex in Kitahama-cho, Takamatsu City in Kagawa Prefecture. When you open the door, you are greeted with a tasteful space that makes good use of its location with the islands dotted around the Seto Inland Sea, the boats sailing back and forth in front of your eyes, the rusted tin and the vintage interior design. It has an extensive café menu with carefully-selected tea and coffee served in collaboration with a home-roasted coffee shop in Yashima. The food menu, which includes pizza, curry and bagels is also popular.

Whilst waiting for our ferry across to Naoshima Island we went... as we always do... in pursuit of the best coffee in town... and this was a truly wonderful surprise. Housed in a pretty run-down...

Kagawa Takamatsu-shi Yashimanakamachi 91

This tearoom is located on the grounds of Shikoku Mura, an outdoor museum which displays old and ancient traditional homes moved here from across the Shikoku region. Operating out of Western-style home built as a residence for Englishman William Down which was moved here from Kobe, the tearoom serves coffee and black tea as well as cakes and muffins. Inside, the building exudes an English atmosphere and all of the furniture was ordered from the U.K. Everything is around a century and a half old, engendering an elegant and quiet air. The tearoom can also be used as a venue for parties, presentations, concerts, commemorative photography, and other events.

四国村の出口のところにある、喫茶店です。素敵な建物を眺めながら通り過ぎようとしたら、登録有形文化財とのこと。しかも喫茶店で、神戸から移築して表にはロンドンから移したという大ぶりの風変わりなポストがでんと座っていました。店の中は広々して、古いけどしっかりしたつくりのテーブルと椅子が満ちていました。
