    This marketplace is right near Karo Harbor in Karo Town, Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture. Both visitors and locals come here to purchase seafood caught fresh from the Japan Sea.     Sakyu Kaikan is a large drive-in restaurant situated just outside the entrance (east entrance) to the famous sightseeing spot of the Tottori Sand Dunes in Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture. There is a lot on offer here for tourists such as a restaurant suitable for large groups, a cafe area, and shops selling lots of specialty products from Tottori. The restaurant serves fresh seafood dishes with their most popular dish being the crab on rice with sand dune yam. The seafood rice bowl topped with a range of over 10 different kinds of seafood is also very popular. The cafe offers local treats such as pear flavored soft ice-cream and pickled scallion burgers.

    A 15-minute drive from the Tottori Sand Dunes, this shop processes and sells fresh seafood at Karo Harbor, known as the best store in the eastern Tottori. They are particularly famous for their snow crab, a wintertime delicacy. They recommend boiling the light and succulent flesh to best enjoy its tender texture. This fresh and meaty crab makes a great gift. They also sell fatty sailfin sandfish dried overnight, mosa-ebi shrimp that can only be caught in the Sea of Japan, and swordtip squid, a Tottori summer specialty packed with savory sweetness.

    Toufu Chikuwa no Sato Chimura is a store specializing in Tofu Chikuwa. Besides the store’s flagship product Tofu Chikuwa, which is made by kneading together tofu and ground white fish and then broiling the mixture, Toufu Chikuwa no Sato Chimura also sells ordinary Chikuwa (made without tofu), Kamaboko (fish paste), just-fried tempura (the type that is called Satsuma-age in the Kanto region), etc. There is also an area where visitors can experience making Chikuwa themselves.

    国道53号沿いにある豆腐竹輪ちむらの直売店。店内では普通の豆腐竹輪以外にチーズ・カレー・生姜・鯛など各種の豆腐竹輪が販売されている。豆腐竹輪以外にも豆腐ステーキや天かま揚げ、地酒、菓子、ジェラートなども販売されていた。因みに店内の右奥にはカフェ、左奥には窓越しに豆腐竹輪の製造を見る事が出来る。昔おいしい水32都市の一つとして選ばれた鳥取の水、近くを流れる千代川の伏流水を試飲する事が出来る。

The shop's simple baked sweets set and bite-sized scones are popular not only with locals but also tourists visiting Ube Shrine.

    ドライブがてらに立ち寄ってみましたがお店の雰囲気もなかなか良かったです。地産地消のこだわりで美味しいパンでした。

    Directly operated by Suwa Shuzo, this brewery has been in operation since 1859. They have choice sake made with fine ingredients and the superlative methods of the Hiroshima-toji master brewers. Suwa Shuzo uses water from their own well for making their sake. The super soft water with a hardness of about two comes from a Chizu Town aquifer, 93% of which covered with forest. Even though the sake is considered dry, the use of the soft water gives it a subtle sweetness. The shop has a tasting area, and it's fun to discover your favorite brews while hearing their recommendations and feature of each sake.

    値段が安く、それなりの大きさなので買った時点では満足でした。 帰って食べてビックリ。こんな不味い焼き菓子は初めてでした。残ったお菓子を会社に持って行ったのですが、社員は皆美味しくないのを知っており、誰も食べませんでした。二度と行きません。

    この時期お礼やお祝いでお菓子を送ることが多いのですが不二家さんが桜が丘地区にあるためとても助かります。ブランドだけで喜んで頂けますがクッキーは日持ちもしてとても美味しいと定評です。

    2019/05/02 帰省時に夕食。 田舎の実家に帰省前とあってカロリー食をセット。 うな牛 特盛＋あさり汁、＠1,570円は小生もお初の金額。 まあ、コスパはいいかな。美味しかったとは書けないけれど。
