This outdoor museum is located in Inuyama City. It displays a number of buildings from the Meiji period, the era that created the foundation for modern Japan, that have been transplanted from across the country. Located on a large hilly area facing Lake Iruka, the museum's numerous exhibits include buildings designed as national important cultural properties such as the former residence of Saigo Judo and the St. John's Church from Kyoto, railway monuments, and modern industrial heritages. The museum also features a number of hands-on facilities including one where visitors can ride on steam locomotives or a Kyoto street car and another where visitors can take commemorative photos dressed in fashionable Meiji era-style garb. Fees are required for some activities. Groups of 20 or more can play a real-world ''Game of Life'' that takes place over the entire village (reservation required).

Opened in 1989 for the 50th anniversary of Toyota Motor, the museum has a main building and annex. You can easily learn about the history of the evolution of automobiles. There is a library inside where you can deepen your knowledge of automobiles. In addition, there is also a library for children with picture books of vehicles. The museum shop has plenty of original goods, and the restaurant has a menu centered on Western-style dishes. There are car-related reading materials even in the cafe, so you can spend a relaxing time there.

A hands on museum where visitors can learn about and enjoy the history of Mizkan vinegar production and food culture. The museum requires an advance reservation to view; a guided tour is provided. The museum is divided into different themes. First, the history of Mizkan vinegar production from the Edo period to modern times is introduced. The museum is full of interesting, interactive exhibits and clever ideas. The tour ends with an area where visitors can experience the wonders of foods with a focus on sushi and nabe hot pot. The museum also has a shop which sells unique original merchandise.

南知多へ行く際に立ち寄りました。事前に予約が必要です。ガイド付きの全館コースがお薦めです。時間は９０分かかります。ミツカンの酢作りの歴史に触れることができます。相当な力の入ったミュージアムです。入館料が３００円必要ですが、設備やスタッフのことを考えると安いものだと思います。

This is a comprehensive science museum located in Nagoya City. The building is characteristic for its unique external appearance which seems to be embracing a giant sphere. The museum is largely composed of three main buildings, the Life Science Building, which features exhibits about the human body and life on earth, the Astronomy Building, which features astronomy and the mysteries of space, and the Science and Technology Building featuring exhibits related to science and physics. The sphere is actually the Brother Earth planetarium, the world’s largest which projects a large starry sky on the dome. There are also large exhibits popular with both children and adults such as a room with a temperature of -30 degrees Celsius where visitors can experience an aurora and a corner to experience an artificial tornado.
SCMAGLEV and Railway Park

This railroad museum located in the Minato Ward of Naogya City is based around the Tokaido Shinkansen yet also introduces high-speed rail technology in use from conventional trains to superconducting magnetic levitating trains (SCMaglev). The museum has 39 real train cars on display including the MLX01-type linear motor car that was displayed at Expo 2005 Aichi Japan, and visitors can even enter some of them. There is a railroad diorama and also numerous display corners where visitors can learn about train history and technology through exhibits. The Shinkansen and conventional train simulators (chosen by lottery) are very popular. There is also a very dynamic mini theater where visitors can experience a simulated world of a SCMaglev train cruising at a speed of 500 kilometers/hour.

The museum also holds special exhibitions featuring amazing cultural assets from Japan and around the world. In addition to its exhibits, the museum also holds lectures, workshops, and other events. The museum’s frequent hands-on historical seminars teach children even as they have fun. The museum is located on the second and third floors of the Seto-Gura tourist facility, built on the old site of the Seto City Hall. Visitors can learn all about the history and culture surrounding Seto pottery which flourished here and became known as Seto-mono (pottery and porcelain). The museum houses displays which bring to life the work that was carried out at that time including a nostalgic reproduction of the original Owari Seto Station and streetcar, as well as a reproduction of a pottery workshop, called a moro, a coal fired kiln and chimney. There is also an area where you can enjoy some matcha green tea for a fee. A perfect place to relax after wondering around the museum. The nearest station is Owari Seto Station.

Dondenkan is a town development facility, or museum, located in Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture. It is home to four floats, each eight meters in height, which are paraded through the streets in the Inuyama Festival, one of the country’s Important Intangible Folk Cultural Properties. The floats exquisitely decorated in gold leaf and lacquer are an impressive sight. The building has been built to reproduce the town houses of the Inuyama castle town, complete with Japanese rooms and earthen floors. The second floor exhibition room displays models and materials relating to Inuyama Festival. It’s a place where you can really feel the thrilling festival atmosphere.

The museum has exhibits on sake and the history of Handa, a display where sake brewing is introduced through Japanese paper mannequins, and displays showing the tools used in sake brewing. Tokoname City in Aichi Prefecture is known as one of the “Six Old Kilns of Japan,” and it is the birthplace of Tokoname ware. The Tokoname City Ceramic Hall, located between Tokoname Station and the Tokoname Interchange, produces and sells Tokoname ware. You can purchase teacups, rice bowls, vases, and ornaments. The facility itself is a tourist location and the first stop on the “pottery trail.” There’s a parking lot, rest area, bathroom, and other amenities, making it a kind of base for Tokoname tourism.

Great ceramic artifacts and a lot of it. Big collection of ceramics, some are really nice. It was my second visit here.

An art museum located in Toyohashi Park in Imahashi-cho, Toyohashi City. The museum's collection includes some 1,000 works of art such as paintings, calligraphy, and photographs, with a focus on local artists; historical materials connected to Yoshida Castle, Kyoto pottery, Korean and Chinese porcelain, archeological materials, and folk custom materials. In addition to its standing exhibition, the museum holds special exhibitions and, once every three years, the Triennale Toyohashi exhibition, which is open to public entry.

名古屋市の科学館などに比べたら小さいですが、お値段も300円だったかすごく安く入れます。また最近では「赤ちゃんとプラネタリウム」と言うイベントをたびたび実施しており「初めてのプラネタリウム」と言う名前だったかな。とても地域に根付いているプラネタリウムです。その入口では150円ぐらいで物作り教室が毎週末開催されていて何かを親子で製作できます。雨の日などに行くとちょうどいいかも。

This museum is located about a seven-minute walk from the No. 2 exit of the Akaike Station on the Tsurumai Subway Line. Three representative cars from the street tram that used to traverse Nagoya City, and two Model 100 cars, fondly called the yellow train, from when the subway was first built are on display. Visitors can freely enter the train cars, sit and take in the atmosphere decorated with period posters and newspaper articles, and study the history of the streetcars from the displays of the mechanical parts, and more. There is a drive simulator so that one can experience what it’s like to be a train engineer, games, quizzes, and more, making this museum a fun place for both children and adults.

田原城の城内にあり当時の雰囲気を偲ばせる石垣と堀は一見の価値があります。三河国田原藩の武士、渡辺華山の生涯について分かりやすく展示されています。最期は少し悲しくもありますが、報民倉により大飢饉を乗り越えた功績は後世に残す価値のある偉業だった事を学ぶ事が出来ました。
