This is a railroad theme park located in Annaka City’s Matsuida Town established on the site of the former JR Yokokawa Locomotive Depot rail yard. The main attraction is the locomotive engineer experience in which visitors can drive a real 108-ton electric locomotive (reservation required). Inside the park is a Railway Museum where visitors can learn about the history of the now-abandoned Usui Line and the Railway Display Hall which houses more than 30 valuable train cars. Visitors can ride a steam locomotive that goes around the park, a miniature steam locomotive and a trolley train, making this park popular among both children and railroad fans alike.

My wife and I are visiting from Canada and decided to stop in here, and wow this would be such a great place to bring children. A number of rides are available for children plus a small train that...

This private theme park in Yoshioka Town, Kita Gunma County, Gunma Prefecture features an old-fashioned candy store street. There are also a variety of other areas like an antique toy and doll museum, a classic car museum, a teddy bear museum, and a squirrel park. Visitors pour in from around the country. From children to seniors, there’s something for everyone.

The museum is quite ‘wild and whacky’ as you enter. The proprietor clearly has a sense of fun. The toy and doll sections are interesting but my main reason for visiting was the classic Japanese car...

Gunma Pref. Agatsumagunnaganoharamachi Kitakaruizawa Demon Extrusion Asama Garden
This is a municipal museum standing on Onioshidashi, the largest scenic spot on the Asama Plateau. Inside the museum material regarding the structure and development of Mt. Asama, which is an active volcano, as well as the surrounding nature and history, is exhibited. Many models and images are used, and it is easy for children as well as adults to understand. It is also one of the core facilities of the Mt. Asama North Geopark, providing nature information of the northern foothills of Mt. Asama as well as organizing events including observation sessions.

Skip this and go to the Volcanic Park instead. A boring exhibit that is dusty and very aged. No information in english at all and over priced for what is on offer.
