    An art museum which displays wood carvings by Chiharu Ozawa and his son Toshiharu, two renowned folk artists. The museum building is a tatch room structure which was built in the snowy region of Yanma in Niigata and later moved here and remodeled; the hipped roof building mixes both Japanese and Western elements. The spacious museum is filled with more than 1,500 examples of folk art, including decorative frames and basins, boxes of various sizes, partitioning screens, all manner of trays, confectionary boxes, bookends, and magazine racks. The museum's collection of 1,200 wooden sculptures gathered from around the world are also well worth a look. Here visitors can have fun learning about the traditions and history of folk art.

    A campground 930 meters above sea level located in Utsukushigahara. The campground has bungalows, cottages, hot showers, and laundry facilities. The campground also has a fishing pond where you can catch rainbow trout and char, and playground. In addition, the campground conducts activities such as river games on the Akakura River. The campground is frequently used by families, particularly on weekends and during long holidays.

    当日に電話して予約できました。9月の土曜日でしたが空いていてかなり静かでした。場内には釣り堀のほかヤギ、ウサギなどがいました。山の斜面にそって段々にサイトがつくられており、車で登っていけます。きれいに整地されていてテントがはりやすかったです。眺望はありませんでした。

    The park is located in Mugikusa Pass, the highest point on National Route 299 (Melchen Highway) connecting Chino City, Nagano Prefecture, to Iruma City, Saitama Prefecture, and is a protected area for alpine flora. There are mountain huts and walking trails in the surrounding area, making it easy to enjoy a stroll. Please note that National Route 299 (Merschen Highway) is closed during the winter.

    "A five-minute walk from Namezu Station and an eight-minute drive from the Saku-minami interchange. This former school building, located right next to Seichi Park, was constructed in 1875. It is the oldest extant Western-style school building in the country and has been designated an Important Cultural Property and National Historic Site as an extremely important example of historic architecture. Due to its many glass windows and the stained glass windows decorating the first and second floors, an extreme rarity at the time, it was nicknamed the ""Glass School."" A taiko drum was used in the octagonal steeple jutting out from the center of the roof to announce the time and was thus known as the taiko tower. A lovely wisteria trellis stands in front of the school."

    A 20-minute drive from Sakudaira Station and a 25-minute drive from the Saku Interchange. A museum situated on the grounds of the Osawa Sake Brewery along with the Shinano Sanrin Art Museum operating out of a remodeled building once used for yeast fermentation. Exhibits include tools used to make sake and a sake jar, today the oldest extant sake vessel in Japan, which was created in the same year the company was founded in 1689. Visitors can also see many materials relating to local history such as an edict proclaiming a prohibition on Christianity and an ancient map pf Mochizuki Castle. Visitors can taste and purchase sakes on the first floor; the Shinano no Kataribe junmai sake, only sold here, is particularly recommended.

    A center for the promotion of health which makes use of hot spring waters. The center has a bade bathing zone with eight different tubs designed to treat such ailments as nerve pain, rheumatism, joint pain, and lower back pain. There's also a pool zone with an ultrasonic water flow machine, and customers can choose which facilities to use based on their needs and health issues. Licensed hot spring usage coaches and health and exercise coaches are on hand and can help customers not only with rehabilitation but also swimming practice. The center offers a variety of programs making use of its pool and training room for people of all ages, from children to adults.

    A park located close to Bessho Onsen. The spacious park is outfitted with a variety of facilities. There's a putting golf course and tennis courts where visitors can enjoy sports in the cooling shade of trees. A forested trail is a great place to take a walk among seasonal flowers, while an observatory provides a sweeping view of the Shioda Plain. There's also a campground where you can camp in the great outdoors or stay in a bungalow. In addition, visitors can go chestnut gathering in a chestnut orchard in the fall.

    An art museum located on the grounds of the Joraku-ji Temple. The Joraku-ji Temple stands on the bank of a pond, and the museum preserves and displays works of art connected to the temple as well as ema votive tablets and other objects offered to the Kitamuki Kannon Temple on the grounds. The museum is famous for its collection of ancient roof tiles from famous temples across the country, but there are many other rare items in the collection well-worth seeing, such as woodblock prints by Shiko Munakata, a prayer diary created by the great Tokugawa Ieyasu at the age of 71, a manuscript written in Hakushu Kitahara's own hand, and a statue of Kannon dating to China's Song dynasty. Note that the museum's hours differ slightly depending on the time of year.

    A walking path maintained on Usui Pass on the border of Nagano Prefecture and Gunma Prefecture. From Karuizawa Town, the hiking course consists of a 90-minute uphill walk and a 60-minute downhill walk. The Usui Pass Observation Platform is located near the top of the pass, and from here visitors can enjoy a sweeping view of surrounding mountains such as Mt. Asama and the Myogi Mountains.

    An art museum located in Yokobuki, Nagakura,, Karuizawa Town, Kitasaku County, Nagano Prefecture. Per his dying request, the museum was opened to preserve and display the works of Hirosuke Tasaki, a Western-style painter who had a studio in Karuizawa and who was awarded the Order of Culture. In addition to numerous works depicting the natural beauty of Yatsugatake Mountains and Mt. Tateshina, the museum also contains exhibits on the artist's exchanges with other painters.

    田崎廣助氏の作品が展示されている美術館。若い頃の留学先のパリ、その後は日本の山がモチーフ。亡くなられた後の開館になってしまったそうだが、中庭を囲むようにぐるっと回れる建物も素晴らしい。

The museum's cafe can be used even without purchasing a museum ticket, and here customers can enjoy lunch while taking in a view of the museum's large garden and Mt. Asama beyond.
