    A traditional Japanese confection shop located kitty-corner from the Kaminarimon gate in Asakusa. This long-standing shop boasts 90 years of history at its current location. Featured in all manner of media, Kameju is famous for the unending lines which form at its door each day. Particularly popular are the shop’s dorayaki – soft and moist sweet red bean paste made with adzuki beans from Tokachi sandwiched between two fluffy, pancake-like dough saucers. Larger than the average dorayaki, the shop offers a white and a black bean paste variety. Popular as souvenirs and gifts, they often sell out.

    This is a specialty store of Karinto (traditional deep-fried sweets) and bean confectionery in Asakusa, Taito City, Tokyo. The shop offers more than 30 kinds of Karinto and bean sweets, and in addition to the classic flavors such as “Kuro-mitsu (brown sugar syrup)” and “Shiro-mitsu (refined white sugar sprinkled)”, they also have unique flavors such as “spicy kinpira gobo (boiled burdock root)” and “edible tea”. Pretty packages with pictures of Japanese landmarks such as Kaminarimon and Mt. Fuji are popular. The store has a Japanese feel with white walls and wood, and a wide entrance making accessibility easy.

    外国から旅行で来ていた友人にお土産に日本のお菓子を買いたいと言われたので行きました。甘いかりんとうから甘くないお豆等幅広くあり、良かったです。パッケージも日本的なものが多く、お店の人によると、ブックカバーになるとの事でとても喜んでいました。ただ、試食が少なかったので、もう少しあるとわかりやすくて買いやすいと思いました。

    This sweets-cafe is run by Japanese confectioner Funawa. Their signature item is sweet potato yokan jelly, along with other delights, like sweet-bean paste balls, you can enjoy at your leisure. They have rare treats like Sweet Potato Pancakes, with sweet potato cream sandwiched between two pancakes, or sweet potato yokan soft-serve parfait. They have coffee, black tea, matcha, and hoijicha tea. The Sweet Potato Latte made with the same potatoes as their yokan is an only available at Funawa Cafe!

    芋ようかんで超有名なお土産屋の喫茶店です。 和菓子のお店なのに、洋館風のお洒落な建物。 テラス席もあり、テラス風？なのか、ガラス屋根の付いた、温室のような感じで、雨の日でも問題なく利用できるようになっています。 芋ようかんをアレンジしたソフトクリームやパフェ、和スイーツなどいただけます。 居心地もよく、浅草へ観光に来た際の休憩にはおススメです。

    This cafe has a large riverside window that gives guests a sweeping view of the meandering Sumida River, a bridge, and the Tokyo Skytree. They also have open terrace seating. After dark, guests enjoy the Skytree lit-up in the nightscape. The menu mainly consists of Western food such as toast, pasta, and sandwiches. The basement cake shop sells handmade cakes that are available for takeout.

    Avoid at all costs. Expensive, cheap food, badly prepared. The location does not begin to compensate. Nearly any other place in the area has to be better. I can’t write any more. Just...

    This beer terrace is in Sumida Park on the banks of the Sumida River. Guests take in the river and Tokyo Sky Tree from the open terrace seating. The simply designed building is mainly made of recycled, environmentally friendly materials. The cafe features a gallery wall for guests to interact with each other, and the menu includes hot sandwiches and other light fare. In the evening they offer draft beer, glass wine, and highballs.

    Riverside cafe with light meals. Seats are available indoor and outside. Teriyaki chicken sandwich (oven sand) was yummy.

    This cafe on Asakusa's Rokku-dori Street has a striking appearance, with a red tent and glass. With a comfortable space like a cafe in Paris, you can go there from seven in the morning. It has an offering covering from morning to teatime, with a morning menu including croque monsieur and salads, a lunch menu with hayashi (Japanese-style beef stew) rice and galettes, and dessert menu with matcha ice cream and pancakes topped with chunky red bean paste. It also has a wine menu and a wide variety of barrel hard ciders which can be enjoyed together with snacks such as assorted cheese, olives and pickles.

    What a disappointment ! Had high expectation, but the only good thing here is the wine, which they do not produce. The French Garrett they serve was the worst I ever had. It came with a huge salad...

    Cafe michikusa is in the middle of the residential district north of Sensoji temple. With its concept of Easy fun and connections, it offers patrons a place to have a low-key time in the city. People can talk with friends, sit and read alone, or throw themselves into work. This shop welcomes them all with carefully brewed coffee and tea, handmade desserts, and lunch. There's a park in front of the shop and space for strollers so it's perfect for families, too.

    Love their pancakes and coffee. Saw the food ordered by the other customers, looks good and yummy. The cafe is small with nice ambiance.

Their anko balls with bean jam wrapped in agar are also popular, and in addition to plain azuki, they sell flavors such as matcha green tea, strawberry, and coffee.

    This veteran Japanese sweet shop on the Nakamise Shopping Street in Asakusa, Taito City was established in 1902. They're well known for their sweet potato yokan jellied cakes, as well as soft serve ice cream of the same flavor. They also sell items only available at their Nakamise 3 shop, including Kuri-iri Nishoku Kintsuba chestnut sweets.

    Delicious matcha and dark chocolate ice cream! Visited more than once; please note that this is a crowded area and that you must go across the shop to a standing area to enjoy your food.
