During the Edo Period (1615?1868), it was originally a guard post located between Koiwa and Ichikawa on the Edogawa River and later became a checkpoint to monitor comings and goings in the area. An explanatory plaque has installed. It was formerly located below the embankment, but it was moved to the top of the embankment. However, due to repeated shoring up of the embankment along the Edogawa River, the exact locations of the checkpoint building and the ferry dock have not been determined.

Kashima had a daughter and frequently visited the then-Wada City with her. Later, they moved here so she could recuperate from illness. Chiba Areas

The Boso Peninsula forms the main body of Chiba prefecture, and this is where you’ll find its endless warm water beaches and jagged mountains. Further inland, Narita - most famous as the home of Narita Airport - is a secret haven of tradition and history in the form of centuries-old Shinshoji Temple and quaint wooden Edo buildings. Chiba prefecture is also home to both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.
