  • Childhood Residence of Idemitsu Sazo
    Travel / Tourism
    Fukuoka Pref. Munakatashi Akama
Located in the old post station town of Akama-juku on Karatsu Kaido (a series of main roads built throughout Japan during the Edo period), this building was the childhood home of businessman Sazo Idemitsu, founder of the Idemitsu Kosan company. It was originally an indigo wholesale store and used to be open to the general public; today, however, visitors can only view the exterior. There is a nearby museum operating out of a remodeled old private home. His childhood home is preserved as Tangible Cultural Property.

    Fukuoka Pref. Kitakyushushikokuraminamiku Hiraodai 1-1-1
"A karst plateau designated Kitakyushu Quasi-National Park and located in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, the area is considered one of the three great karst plateaus of Japan. There are many distinctive limestone rock formations in the area such as ""Lion Rock"" and ""Kiss Rock,"" as well as limestone caverns in which it is popular to go cave exploring. At the popular Hiraodai Countryside Park, visitors can try making soba noodles and ceramics."
  • Dazaifu Government Office Ruins

    Travel / Tourism
    Fukuoka Pref. Dazaifushi Kanzeonji 4-6-1
"A designated National Special Historic Site located a 15-minute walk from Tofuromae Station on the Nishitetsu Tenjin Omuta Line. Today the site is maintained as a historic park. Also a renowned destination for cherry blossom viewing, in the spring when the trees are in bloom they are lit up at night. In addition, the site has become a popular mystical ""power spot (spiritual place with energy vortex)"" and is frequented in particular by locals."

Now it is just ruined, but once this place used to be the administrative center of Western Japan. It stimulates our imagination. Sakamoto Hachiman Shrine is nearby. You can also visit Kanzeonji...
