This monument commemorates the exchange between Japan, Spain, and Mexico, and is in the form of a giant concrete obelisk, approximately 17 meters high. Unfortunately, formal diplomatic relations were never established, but the monument was erected in 1928 to commemorate the shipwreck and rescue.
