This safari park is located in Takakuhei, Nasu Town. In addition to observing nearly 70 animal species in the ecological exhibits, including lions, giraffes, rhinoceroses, and bison, visitors can also enjoy feeding the herbivorous animals. Also, every Saturday from April until the end of October (additional dates during three-day weekends, Golden Week, and summer break), night safaris are held in which visitors can observe the habits of nocturnal animals. It’s also possible to only visit the safari restaurant, where you can enjoy barbecued dishes, curry, rice bowls, noodles, and more.

Fun place. Have gone a few times now with young children, young adults and older adults. Each time has been a fun experience. I recommend renting one of the park’s cars to avoid damage to your own...

The museum is a theater-style museum that can be called the culmination of the work of Seiji Fujishiro, an artist of light and prayer, and where an objet d'art of a cat guides visitors through the lush garden that leads from the Nagaya-mon gate. A brick chapel with beautiful stained glass windows is also located in the garden.

I was moved by his great expressiveness. This museum was better than I expected. But, the explanation board is only in Japanese.

Tochigi Prefecture’s Otawara City is home to the prefecture’s only aquarium. In tanks replicating the ecology of the Nakagawa River, you can see creatures that inhabit a range of environments from the source to the river’s lower reaches. The huge tube-type tunnel aquarium featuring fish from the Amazon River like the enormous arapaima and piranha is a must see. There are many interactive areas as well, including touching tanks where visitors can encounter crayfish and starfish directly.

６月１５日、県民の日無料入園料にてカピバラの茶々丸くんに会いにいきました。この日はご機嫌よくアマゾン水槽をお魚になった茶々丸くんはグルグル何度も周遊していました。こんなに活発な動きをしているカピバラの茶々丸くんも初めてです。古代恐竜時代にいたようなアマゾンジャングルに放し飼いのおとなしいイグアナ君が草をムシャムシャ食べている様子が目の前で観察できました。どちらも初めての経験です。

This zoo is located in Takakuko, Nasu Town. Along with several species of monkeys, including Japanese monkeys, lemurs, and squirrel monkeys, there are also elephants, red pandas, parakeets, cats, and a variety of other animals. In addition to a petting area, there’s a “monkey theater” with variety shows featuring monkeys and an “elephant forest” where visitors can ride elephants, along with many other experiences. You’ll also find restaurants that provide various Asian cuisine and shops that sell monkey-themed goods.

ゾウライドについての感想です。現地タイでは昔から象の調教が問題になっているという内容の番組をテレビで見て驚愕しました。その後こちらの施設に訪れた際にゾウライドがあることを知り、日本にあったんだと驚いた次第です。複雑な気持ちでした…。

You’ll find a collection that includes “artist bears” based on artists from around the world, as well as antique bears and Teddy Edward, the teddy bear that has traveled the most around the world. There are also planned exhibitions. In addition, there’s a museum shop with a variety of teddy bear goods, as well as a tea room with teddy bear-themed menu items.

This zoo is located along Prefectural Route 305 in Oshima, Nasu Town. The “Kingdom Town” is a mostly indoors area, while the “Kingdom Farm” is outdoors. Visitors can interact with the animals and enjoy animal shows. In addition, there’s the “Capybara no Yu” hot spring facility where visitors can soak in the hot water while observing capybaras bathing in an open-air bath. There are also five different restaurants and various shops available.

This botanical garden is located along Prefectural Route 68 in Toyoharaotsu Nasumichishita, Nasu Town. Amidst the vast verdure of the Nasu highland, you’ll find roses, lupins, tulips, and many other vibrant seasonal blooms. With the Nasu Mountains and other natural splendor in the backdrop, visitors can bask in the majestic scenery.

とっても広いと思って行くと「そうでもないかな？」と思うかたもいると思いますが、結構広いです。お花畑の間、間に道があって、下から上から眺めながら散策することが出来ます。一時的に雨が降りましたが、雨宿りする場所も有りますし、傘も借りられます。散策路が多少ぬかるんだりするので、雨の日は靴汚れに注意です。ケイトウの見頃時期にはお薦めの場所だと思います。

This composite facility can be found along the Shiobara Valley Line in Shiobara, Nasushiobara City. You’ll find exhibits on Shiobara’s history and literature as well as a shop selling souvenirs and local produce, a cafe and restaurant specializing in western dishes made with local ingredients. There’s also a foot bath facility utilizing on-site hot spring water as well as a tourism information section and valley observation platform. The “Kurenai (Crimson) Suspension Bridge” that links to the cliff across the river is a famous spot for viewing the fall foliage and new blooms of spring.

This is the largest stained glass museum in Japan, and it is located along Prefectural Route 21 in Takakuhei, Nasu Town. The interior is decorated in the style of the manor houses in Cotswolds, England, and it contains several works of antique stained glass from the 1800s. The chapel hosts daily pipe organ and music box performances, and it is possible to book it for wedding ceremonies.

併設カフェです。紅茶とスイーツを食べました。ステンドグラスのオシャレな雰囲気の中なので優雅な気分になります。値段は少々高いですが、良かったです

This car museum has a wide variety of classic car makes from around the world on display, including Alfa Romeo and Mercedes. There's a section of the museum with cars that you can touch or get into as well. With valuable cars on display that can't be seen anywhere else the museum draws car fans from far and wide.

Visited the museum for about an hour. A nice collection of mainly UK and US cars with a few European favourites added in (Ferrari and Alfa Romeo). Great fun to walk around and then to play some old...

Its permanent exhibit features 100 items including antique music boxes, mechanical musical instruments, and other items, most of which are from the collection of music box collector Kiyoshi Sato. Visitors to the museum, which is visited by many tourists, can also enjoy activities such as making their own music box.

音の深みがあるオルゴールばかり。一度は訪問して、あの音色を聴いて癒されるのもアリだと思います。美術館の外に鐘があるのですが、恋人と鐘の下で愛を確めあうのも良いかもしれませんね。

This art museum was designed by architect Kuma Kengo. Originally an old stone warehouse it is almost entirely constructed out of stone. On display are stone works, interactive exhibitions, photographs, and drawings, and regular special events are held. There is also a cafe and shop.

This museum features permanent exhibits on the subject of the poet Matsuo Basho and the Ozeki clan, who were the lords of the Kurobane Domain. It also holds special exhibits intended to increase interest in the region's cultural heritage. Built with ample amounts of Yamizo cedar, the museum has a dignified appearance. There is also a bronze statue of Basho astride his horse alongside his traveling companion Kawai Sora in the courtyard.

This outdoor science museum is located in Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture. First opened in 1905, the museum preserves and displays the fossils that have been excavated on its grounds. The exhibit room displays a wide variety of fossils and minerals collected from around the world, mostly notably the many fossils produced locally in the Shiobara area. One of the museum's attractions is a corner where visitors can enjoy breaking open fossil rocks in order to look for leaf fossils.

塩原湖からは沢山の植物、昆虫、魚、カエルなどの化石が産出されています。その数々の化石がきれいに展示されているので興味を持つ子どもたちには最高の場所でしょう。実際に原石を割って化石探しの体験をすることが出来ます。ショップコーナーでは化石や鉱物が販売されています。あまり時間がなかったのでゆっくりできなかったのが残念でした。
