- This museum was opened in 2001 to preserve the collection from the former treasure house, which had deteriorated. The garden is designated as a famous historic landmark, and the building exterior is designed to blend perfectly with it, with special features like using natural lighting in the interior. In addition to being a registered National and Uji City Important Cultural Asset, it also displays a collection of Heian period onigawara gargoyle roof tiles excavated from archaeological sites.

A visit to the museum comes with the entrance price when visiting Byodoin Temple. I found the museum to be a great addition! The museum was pretty large with a lot of great artifacts and information...

- This museum located in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture collects and displays materials pertaining to the Genji Monogatari (Tale of Genji), the full-length novel by Murasaki Shikibu. Inside, it is divided into video exhibition rooms including the Heian-no-Ma which introduces the world of the Genji Monogatari and the life of Japanese nobles with models and video, and the Uji-no-Ma, which takes the theme of Uji Jujo (The 10 Quires of Uji) in the third part of the Genji Monogatari, which was set in Uji. There are also a teahouse offering Japanese sweets and a shop selling merchandise related to the Genji Monogatari.

子供と遊びに行きましたが、修理中の遊具が多すぎる!めぼしいものはほぼ修理中でロープが張られています。西脇知事には早急に修理支持を出していただきたいところです。 冒険の森の奥のほう、風の回廊やその奥の森の砦(だったかな?)への道はハイキングコースっぽくて楽しかったので、★一つ足して2の評価にします。

- This public park in Uji City, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture lies on a hilly area adjoining the Yamashiro Sogo Undo Koen athletic park. With 3,675 planters and a huge tiered platform, it boasts one of Japan’s largest multi-storey flower beds—the famous “Flower and Water Tapestry”—and a variety of patterns are on display depending on the season. There are a number of noteworthy spots including a greenhouse containing tropical and subtropical plants and a garden of flowering trees. The spring has cherry blossoms, the autumn has changing colored leaves, and from the end of May across June one can see watch fireflies floating among the trees.

宇治市にある植物公園。広い園内では四季折々の草花が見られて、大人から子供まで楽しめる。冬でも温室には花が咲いているので、訪れる価値はある。近くに電車の駅は無いが、近鉄大久保駅やJR新田駅からは、歩いてもさほど遠くない。

- This hands-on lodging facility is located in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture. It is used by many as an open-air school, and is characterized by the rich natural environment of its extensive grounds. In addition to the campground where you can enjoy the outdoors and cooking building on the premises, there is also a gymnasium and observation deck. In the craft building, a variety of events such as pottery and woodworking experiences are held.

- A strawberry farm located a short walk southwest of the Keiji Bypass getting off near the Uji River. For half the year from the end of December to around the end of May, visitors can enjoy strawberry picking here. The farm offers a 20 minute all-you-can-eat strawberry picking course; customers can bring their own sweet condensed milk for enjoying with the berries. Stroller and wheelchair users can also enter the farm. Note that strawberry picking is reservation only but visitors may be able to go strawberry picking without a reservation by checking the day of, and meanwhile a reservation may need to be changed due to poor weather. Although customers can not pick strawberries to take home, the farm has a shop where you can purchase strawberries.
