A roadside station located in Iitaka-cho, Matsusaka City, Mie Prefecture opened as a local specialty products market in 1990. Facilities include a tourist information center, shop selling local farm-fresh produce and specialty products, cafe only open in the morning, and a restaurant which serves Matsusaka beef. Visitors can also ease away the fatigue of their journey using the station's massage service or the Iitaka no Yu natural hot spring bath house, which has 11 bath varieties, including an outdoor bath and steam bath. Also offering short soba noodle making classes, the station is a destination where families can relax and have fun.

Located approximately a three-minute drive from the Ise Expressway Omiyaodai Interchange, this roadside station sells specialty products unique to Oku Ise centered on seasonal vegetables. The cafeteria has many kinds of noodles and set meal items, and the daily lunch item filled with handmade side dishes using seasonal vegetables is especially popular. There are many recommended items, four kinds of local burger using plenty of specialty products, such as venison, sweetfish, green tea, wasabi and shiitake mushrooms harvested in Odai-cho, Uchiyama Ranch soft-serve ice cream, and old-fashioned handmade mochi rice cakes including naisho-mochi and pocchari-mochi.

This roadside station is located in Iinan-cho, Matsusaka City, Mie Prefecture. You can feel the warmth of the wood from the log cabin-style walls inside, and it is packed with fresh vegetables, select locally produced green tea, and Ise-cha Iri Udon Chakura Monogatari kneaded with the Iinan-cho specialty, deep-steamed green tea. In addition to stores, there is also a meal space on the first floor where you can have the highly recommended Chakura set and ocha udon (noodles kneaded with green tea). In the cafe space on the second floor, you can relax with a cup of coffee while enjoying the Kushida River below.

Mie Areas

around-area-map

Spread across the eastern side of the Kii Peninsula, Mie prefecture boasts hundreds of kilometers of pretty coastline comprising the oyster-rich Toba city and Shima National Park all the way down to Kumano, a city that marks the beginning of part of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, which runs into neighboring Wakayama prefecture. However, Mie is best known for the Ise Jingu Shinto shrine inland, one of the oldest and largest shrines in the country.
