"Nihondaira Digital Broadcasting Tower is a 95.5 meter-high digital broadcasting tower that is situated on top of the Nihondaira plateau in the foothills of Mt. Fuji. Its official name is ""Nihondaira Digital Broadcasting Station."" The tower is a multi-station broadcasting tower responsible for broadcasting TV signals in Shizuoka Prefecture; it serves as the primary television broadcasting station for Shizuoka. Located as it is in a scenic spot near Mt. Fuji, great care was taken to ensure that the design of the tower blends in with the Nihondaira landscape. This dyer shop is said to be the birthplace of Yui Masayuki, a military scholar from the early Edo period. Inside this shop which has persisted since the early Edo period, there is a pot, household Shinto shrine, dyeing tools, and an emergency basket, just as in earlier days. Masayuki gained fame by teaching the Kusunoki school of military science. During the Keian Uprising (Yui Masayuki Revolt) in 1651, the plan to topple the Tokugawa Shogunate was discovered, and Masayuki took his own life. This is a small a stone pagoda in the garden in the back of the house remains for venerating Masayuki (tours may not be possible because it is an individual's house).

"This Nichiren sect temple was founded by Nichigon Jonin, who was the nephew of Omannokata, a concubine of Ieyasu, in 1670. The appearance of Mt. Fuji from the eastern foot of Mt. Udoyama is beautiful, and because this wonderful view is one of the landscape scenes representative of Japan, it is praised as ""a famous temple in Tokai"". In the precinct, there is a Shumisen-style garden, ""Kanpuen"", which is arranged to have the roof of the main hall appear as Mt. Fuji and a man-made mound as Mt. Udoyama. The sotetsu cycad trees, which are recognized as a National Natural Monument, the gravestone of Takayama Chogyu, and ""Tera Cafe & Shop"", which sells charms and eco-candles. are also worth a look."

Shizuoka Areas

around-area-map

With the giant Pacific Ocean to the south and the great Mount Fuji to the north, Shizuoka prefecture is blessed with some of the best views the country has to offer. The white sand beaches of the Izu Peninsula are a rare find on mainland Japan, neighbored by beautiful cliffs, tumbling hills, and natural hot springs. As Japan’s largest producer of green tea, the age-old tradition of tea drinking is ubiquitous in Shizuoka, from the miles of tea fields to the old tea houses hosting traditional tea ceremonies.
