There’s a tourism information area, a rest area, a footbath, a dining hall serving local cuisine such as the famous “kensayaki” and “rice flour ramen,” making it great as a pit stop on drives. There are also regional specialty products and souvenirs for sale. The plaza and exhibition room of the “Dento Bunka Denshokan (Traditional Culture Museum)” host various seasonal events.

    A regional cuisine restaurant located a 10-minute walk from the Untoan Temple, a Buddhist temple where the samurai Naoe Kanetsugu and the samurai lord Uesugi Kagekatsu studied in their youths. The restaurant’s building is constructed entirely of Japanese zelkova wood and was built some two centuries ago; inside, customers can enjoy the simple flavors of the area’s local cuisine. Particularly recommended is the Shikagoya Teishoku, which comes with a large number of local specialty dishes. The hearty meal includes cold zaru soba noodles made with local buckwheat flour, tempura, rice, and seasonal side dishes. The restaurant also serves many dishes you’ll find virtually no place else, such as deep fried karaage made with rare local Japanese fluvial sculpin; and kirizaidon, a rice bowl which is a popular cheap eat inMinamiuonuma.

    This restaurant is the main dining area of the Hatago Issen Japanese inn, which is just outside the JR Echigo-Yuzawa Station. It is open, not only to guests, but also to customers from breakfast until the evening dinner. The restaurant serves uniquely arranged local cuisine, which is made with a variety of ingredients readily available in the naturally blessed Uonuma region. The restaurant prides itself on maintaining the flavor of the ingredients in its Murangozzo (Village Feast) dishes. The Kama meshi served here is cooked freshly every day, and contains the plump and sweet Uonuma Koshihikari rice. For an added cost, customers can also enjoy a day-trip to the hot spring.

    Wonderful summer menu lunch course - every dish beautifully presented, offering a delicious variety of flavours using local seasonal ingredients.

    This restaurant is about a 10-minute drive from the Murakami-Senami Hot Spring Interchange. It's on the second floor of the Salmon House salmon workshop next to the Iyoboya Salmon Museum. Seeing as Murakami is a salmon village here you can enjoy local cuisine made with salmon. Their menu is full of popular items including the Harako Donburi rice bowl with soy sauce salmon eggs over rice, the Salmon Takikomigohan rice dish with crumbled salmon mixed with rice, and the steamed salmon which serves soy sauce salmon eggs over a large slice of fish. All of the salmon offered as meals can also be purchased at the shop on the first floor.

    This country cuisine restaurant is located in Minamiuonuma City, Niigata Prefecture. It is a quaint building with a thatched-roof, built in 1870. Here, customers can enjoy different seasonal country cuisines and dishes, such as Noppei soup, which is full of local wild vegetables, and homemade bean curd heavily soaked in soup, and roasted dishes, cooked in a fireplace. A variety of Japanese sake brewed in Niigata are also available, including Manju Kubota and Koshino Kanbai, lending even further to your enjoyment of the flavors of the season's blessings. Accommodation in a separate building is also available, with a Japanese-style breakfast.

    11月初旬に訪問しました。赤、ピンク、緑に色づく山は圧巻でした。 観光スポットは東西に長く点在しているので最低2時間はみておいたほうがいいです。

    お友達に連れて行ってもらいました。 彼女のおすすめのおみせだけあって、とても素敵なお店でした。 料理もすごくおいしいです。 こちらで岩牡蠣をいただきましたが、とてもおいしく、忘れられません！ 機会があったらまた絶対行きたいお店です。
