This is a hot spring facility just a two-minute walk from the Shonandai Station on the Yokohama City Subway Line. The primary feature of this hot springs bath is that the waters are actually Kamiya spring waters, daily transported directly from the Okuyugawara spring source mentioned in the 8th century anthology, the Manyoshu. This clear colorless hard water, high in mineral content, is beneficial for cuts, bruises, external injuries, nerve pain, hip pain, and women's diseases. After bathing, one can relax in the lounge stocked with over 6000 manga or enjoy some ping-pong. The restaurant, Sakura, is another appealing feature with the specialty seafood rice bowl, and the high volume combination meals.

  • Shonan Tennen Onsen Yunokura Garden
    Accommodations / Hot Spring
    Kanagawa Pref. Hiratsukashi Ohara 3-50
This hot spring facility is opposite “Hiratsuka City Multi-purpose Park” in Ohara, Hiratsuka City. The hot spring makes use of a sodium calcium chloride spring, which is a rare find called “fossil seawater” which was trapped within the earth’s crust due to tectonic movements, so it is highly effective at maintaining body temperature through the rich hot spring materials. It features outdoor and indoor baths. You can enjoy any of various baths, such as the “natural spring silk bath” which warms the body with ultrasonic waves and the concentrated carbonated spring, as well as saunas. There is a rest area, body care, and dining facilities as well.

A day trip hot spring facility located near Kita-Chigasaki Station on the Sagami Line. The waters of the facility’s hot spring source well up from 1,500 meters below the ground and are rich in sodium chloride, which beautifies the skin, eases weariness, and soothes nerve and muscle pain. The facility’s rest area for use after your bath provides towels and mats and you can even lay spread out on the tatami mat flooring. There is also a dining area where you can enjoy fresh seafood cuisine made with fish shipped directly from the local Chigasaki fish market.
  • Oiso Onsen

    Kanagawa Naka-gun Oisomachi Kokufuhongo
A new, top hot spring district whose waters only first gushed forth from the ground in 2000. Notable for its charming view of Sagami Bay, the area bustles with many scenic driving lovers, beach goers, and other tourists. The area's salt-rich alkaline chloride springs contain an abundance of sodium, calcium, and other minerals, and are renowned for their heat-retaining properties which prevent post-bath chills. These waters are said to aid recovery from fatigue and promote health in addition to helping to ease nerve pain, muscle soreness, cuts, burns, skin diseases, women's diseases, and other conditions.

Kanagawa Areas

around-area-map

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
