This kaiseki (traditional Japanese course meal) restaurant is located a five-minute drive from Kitakata City Hall. You can enjoy Japanese cuisine with plenty of local seasonal vegetables at this restaurant with its carved wooden signboard and plastered walls. Their popular lunch platter is a delightful sight to behold, with tempura, grilled dishes, sashimi and stewed vegetables beautifully arranged on a large plate. The sashimi lunch, which uses fresh fish and seafood depending on the season and availability, is a hearty meal. They also have a large selection of local sake from Fukushima.

Fukushima Kitakata-shi Matsuyamamachi Torimiyama Sancho Bu 5598-1
This restaurant is inside Roadside Station Kita no Sato. Found a little aways from the urban center along National Route 121, this shop offers up local Kitakata ramen, soba, and local dishes. Their original dish, Kitakata Ramen Burger, uses hard-fried ramen noodles in place of buns to hold a slice of Char Siu pork for a unique bit of luxury. They also offer a limited number of meals with two kinds of Char Siu, one made with Hayamakogen pork, and one from local Aizu-jidori chicken. This popular dish won the top award at the 2009 Fukushima Local Specialty Contest in the food division.

This hometown cooking restaurant is in warehouse town Kitakata. They offer local Aizu ingredients prepared in local styles in a kominka (old house) style building across from the Kitakata city hall. At lunchtime they have a wide selection of local Aizu delights server wappameshi style, steamed in thin wooden boxes, including sauce-covered cutlet rice bowl, horse filet on rice, and Oyakodon featuring Aizu-jidori chicken and eggs over rice. They are popular for offering food like grandma used to make in a traditional Japanese atmosphere. They can offer multi-course meals featuring Aizu horse meat or other local dishes with advance reservations.

    馬刺しヒレ、レバーは厚切りで、角が立ってこれまで食べた馬刺しで一番の美味さ。自家製コンニャクはプルプルモチモチでコンニャク感が変わりました。何を食べても美味しい日本有数の名店です。
