    Kagaya is a restaurant serving kaiseki-ryori (Japanese course cuisine) that is run by Wakura Onsen Kagaya, a well-known hot-spring inn located in Ishikawa Prefecture. In addition to fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan such as its high grade nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), guests can try Kaga cuisine that uses a plentiful amount of Kaga vegetables such as Kaga lotus root and kinji-so (gynura bicolor). During winter the Kano-gani (snow crab) course is popular. The “Kaori-bako” that is offered during the day is their showcase lunch menu and allows diners to try various foods in small portions. The traditional Ishikawa handicrafts that enhance the cuisine such as Wajima lacquer and Ohi-yaki pottery are not to be missed. There are luxurious and gorgeous private dining rooms that are perfect for use in special occasions or dining parties.

It aims to introduce the food culture of distant islands all over Japan against the backdrop of culture, history and legends of each island. The food is made with fresh ingredients set directly from the islands, and in addition to daily specials, they offer a special changing Island of the Month menu. There's also plenty of beer, sake and shochu from the islands, as well.

    お店の名前のとおり、全国の離島のアンテナショップのような要素もあるレストランです。その発信しようとする力は店内の展示や書物からも感じられます。 サービスや店内のセンスは今っぽくオシャレです。料理もとても美味しいんですが、このお店に来ると日本のどこかの民宿に来てゆっくりしている感覚になり、とてものんびりできます。抽象的ですが、このお店の好きな部分はそこですね。

    "This local restaurant is located near the Kashitate post office. One is able to enjoy dishes that allow them to feel the history and culture of Hachijojima inside this restaurant, with its exotic atmosphere and tropical plants. The ""goshamen ryori,"" one of the items on the restaurant's menu, is a local dish said to have been served in celebration long ago to an exile on Hachijojima who had been permitted to return to the mainland. The exquisite cuisine is reputed for allowing one to fully enjoy the taste of Hachijojima. Large-scale sightseeing buses also often stop at this restaurant because of the unique structures, like stone walls, set up inside. Because reservations are required at night, you must contact the restaurant by 15:00 on the day you would like to dine."

    本当は御赦免料理が食べたかったのですが、 2人用〜、ということで断念。 かわりに黒潮料理にしました。 八丈の珍しい食材満載で、とても美味しかったです。 デザートは、観葉植物のモンステラの実! 初めていただきましたが、 バナナとパイナップルとキウイを混ぜたような 味and食感で、意外に美味でした!

    前から気になっていて入ったことなかったお店、昼時に通ったらコスパの良さそうなランチが色々なんで、お邪魔してみました。 鳥の唐揚げと豚の生姜焼きに、サラダと大きな味噌汁、ヒジキの煮物とお新香にご飯がついて740円。 薩摩料理ということなので、また夜も来てみたいと思います。

    休日のランチで訪問しました。 予約なしで行きましたが、なんとかギリギリ入れたという感じ。 個室に通してもらいました。 この日いただいたのはお蕎麦ランチを。 お蕎麦は細目でのど越しが良く、非常に食べやすい。 甘エビのお刺身も甘くておいしい。 西京焼きもちょうど良い味付けでした。 全体的にバランスが良く、大満足なランチ。 少々お値段は張りますが、たまにのご褒美ランチとしてはちょうど良いと思います。
