    Close to Joren Falls in the tourist area of Yugashima in Shizuoka Prefecture’s Izu City, this is a restaurant in the style of an old home. The food uses boar meat such as Amagi’s famous product of Shishi-nabe (boar meat hot pot), and guests can enjoy tasting the products of Izu’s mountain and sea. The popular menu item is the Amagi-don rice bowl topped with plenty of grilled boar meat and covered in a special sauce. There is also plenty of other variety such as the Shishi-nabe set meal with miso sauce, the Koyo-don rice bowl topped with deer meat, and handmade soba. The spacious interior has both table seats and tatami floor seating, and patrons can relax and enjoy a meal either before or after sightseeing at the falls.

    Located in Ichiyama in the city of Izu, Amago Chaya is a restaurant specializing in amago (masu river salmon) and wasabi. Customers who reserve one day in advance can enjoy the deluxe Amago Dinner but without reservation can also enjoy amago kabayakiju (filleted and served with teriyaki sauce on rice), tenju (deep fried fish over rice), or zuke-don (rice bowl topped sashimi soaked in soup stock and soy sauce). It also serves set meals and stews with chemical-free wasabi and Amagi shamo ju made with the famous shamo chicken from the Izu region.

    "This restaurant is located a three-minute walk from Takikawa Station. Facing Hamamatsu Urakawa Elementary School, the restaurant serves handmade goheimochi broiled rice cake skewers. Toasty goheimochi skewers are a local dish and have been eaten in the Sanennanshin region since ancient times. Goheimochi are said to get their name from their flat, oval shape when skewered, which resembles a Shinto ""gohei"" staff with plaited streamers. The restaurant's goheimochi are seasoned with red miso; ginger and sesame are also added to subtly enhance the flavor. The restaurant broils each skewer to order one at a time over a charcoal fire, and its goheimochi have a chewy texture and toasty flavor that customers rave is addictive."

    あげとろ定食2,300円。今月の小鉢は菜の花のおひたしに豚汁。小鉢が豚汁？って思っていたら一人用の土鍋が出てきてびっくり。揚げ物もサクサクで美味しい。メインのとろろは味噌仕立ての塩梅が自分の好みとドンピシャで静岡駅からバスの旅も納得。自分的には丸子の超有名店より気に入りました。 静鉄バス藤枝行で「吐月峰入口」バス停下車徒歩2分。 （2016.04訪問)

    安倍川の近くにあります。車でないとなかなか行きにくいかもしれません。法事で何度かお邪魔しました。懐石をいただきますが、とても美味しいです。量も丁度よく、料理一つ一つがとても丁寧な味つけで癒されます。和食ってやっぱりいいなと思わせてくれるお店です。
