A 10 minute drive from the Rifu Shiogama and Rifu-naka interchanges on the Sanriku Expressway. Adjoining the brewery which makes Urakasumi, one of Miyagi's top local sakes, this gallery serves as a space for providing information on a variety of sakes as well as on Shiogama. Dedicated to providing on Japan's culture of sake which gave birth to Urakasumi, the facility displays and sells exclusive products such as drinking vessels and sakes you can only purchase and taste locally. At the sake tasting counter, you can purchase an original sake cup which allows you to sample various sakes. The lineup of sakes changes monthly and you can bring your cup home as a souvenir.

This liquor store is in the S-Pal commercial complex directly connected to Sendai Station sells an array of sake with a focus on local Miyagi Prefecture brews. There's a sake vending machine in front of the shop that tourists tend to like; there are usually four or five types of sake available, and it will fill a special cup with 30 milliliters of the sake of your choice for 100 yen. The owner installed the vending machine in the hope that the tastings would lead to further purchases of visitors' favorite brews. It's a great spot for sampling sake while waiting for your train, and on busy days they can sell up to 300 cups.

Purposely drop by here asking around where is this shop located. Nice to have a cup of few cups at 100 yen each with 4types of sake on display. Located inside S-Pal Sendai food area. Sake that I...

Lying along the northeastern coast of Japan, Miyagi prefecture is home to lashings of natural parks, oysters, and hot springs. While the bustling city of Sendai offers some simple city entertainment, it’s the Matsushima islands that deserve the most attention, having boosted the prefecture’s reputation as one of Japan’s most scenic views.
