"A comprehensive park in Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, offering a variety of facilities on the extensive site of 100 hectares including a zoo, an amusement park, and a museum. Seasonal flowers bloom in the garden and it is famous as a sightseeing spot for cherry blossoms and iris flowers. The park has been designated as a ""National Registered Natural Monument"" and ""World Heritage Irrigation Facility"" and is widely used as a place for local residents to get together."

I went to Tokiwa Park with a tour group, it was so nice to get out of my current city and see something new. Tokiwa Park is pretty big with a lot of fun activities within the park. Some of the...

This is one of Japan's largest karst plateaus, and has 1.9 kilometers of walking course. It takes about one hour to walk the whole course. There are quiz signs posted along the way, offering short lessons on the history and creation of Akiyoshidai, local geology, and wildlife, and more. The peak is outfitted with an observation deck offering a view of the karrenfeld plain lined with grassland and the limestone boulders...

"This park spreads along the Asa River, a class B river that flows through Mine City. The area behind the Mine City Office is planted with about 200 cherry trees and has large scale play equipment. The sakura viewing season is from late March into early April, when the trees create a cherry blossom tunnel about 40 meters long that is lit up at night for an enchanting sight totally different from the daytime. During the blossom season, the ""Mine Sakura Festival,"" is held where variety of stage events and stalls take place. The close location to both the station and the highway interchange means it's crowded day and night with many flower-viewers and families."

Yamaguchi Areas

Heading west along Japan’s largest island, Honshu, the very last prefecture you’ll reach is Yamaguchi, separated from Kyushu by a small strip of water known as the Kanmon Straits, which the far-reaching harbor city Shimonoseki looks over. With water at every turn, the seafood of Yamaguchi is an indisputable highlight, and we’re not talking just the usual fish dishes - the notorious fugu, or puffer fish, is a Japanese delicacy that was discovered in Yamaguchi prefecture, making it the best place to try it out.
