    This roadside station in Shirakawa Village, Ono County is located on the side of National Route 156. Its food stands offers a number of items to enjoy, including beef skewers made with Hida beef, one of Hida’s local specialties, as well as gohei mochi / mitarashi dango (sweet dumplings glazed with soy sauce). One of the facility’s key attractions is its free foot baths, which are sourced from Oshirakawa Onsen. The station’s display room features a replica of fossilized footprints of an Iguanodon, an herbivorous dinosaur, that were discovered in Oshirakawa. It also offers information on sightseeing destinations such as Mt. Hakusan.

    広大な駐車場のある道の駅ですが、施設自体は小さくて食事も軽食程度しか頂けません。ちょっとしたお土産類は売っていますが種類もさほど多くないようです。

    The collective term for 13 waterfalls located in a nature park a 15 minute drive from JR Hida-Kokufu Station along Prefectural Route 479. The name of the falls is derived from a local tale known as the “Legend of Yosohachi.” A highly secluded area, visitors can enjoy the sight of the 18.8 meter tall Otaki falls and other waterfalls splashing down rocky walls amidst seasonal scenery. This scenery has been selected in a variety of lists of Japan’s most beautiful locations, including the 100 best examples of natural scenery to preserve in the 21st century, Gifu Prefecture’s 50 most beautiful water areas, and the 33 most beautiful locals to enjoy fall foliage in the Hida-Mino area. There is a campground and hot spring bathhouse nearby, and the stone paved path leading to the falls makes it easy even for families with children to enjoy the gorgeous views.

    This facility is located close to the Hida no Sato bus stop, about a 10-minute ride on the Sarubobo Bus from JR Takayama Station. This open air museum consists of Hida no Sato, a removed and restored old valuable kominka (old house) with a gassho (large thatched roof) style, and its sister facility Folk Village. In the museum, there are 30 kominka, representative of Hida, and they form the landscape of an old agricultural mountain village. Each kominka exhibits old everyday tools, and there are demonstrations of straw craft and Hida quilted clothes. Sangaku Museum in the Folk Village displays historical materials of mountain climbing, and plant and animal specimens.

    Roadside Station Tsukimi no Sato Nanno is located along National Route 258 in the foothills of the Yoro Mountain Range. It is the largest roadside station in the prefecture, and it boasts a location that offers a view of the entire Mino Plain. It has a full range of facilities, including shops that sell local souvenirs and agricultural products, a restaurant that serves light meals, and a footbath fed by the hot spring that feeds Nanno Onsen. The reasonably priced light breakfast served in the Tsukimi Chaya is available even on weekends and holidays, and the exact ingredients vary with the season. At the drink station, visitors can taste Croquette Burgers made with the Hida beef. This roadside station has been featured on live radio broadcasts.

    Roadside Station Kashimo is located on the way to the Hida region from the Nakatsugawa Interchange on the Chuo Expressway. It stands in a rich natural setting surrounded by mountains, and visitors can walk down to the banks of the Nagaragawa River. In addition to Hoba-zushi (sushi wrapped in magnolia leaves) and confections made with mugwort, this roadside station sells unusual flavors of soft ice cream made with mineral-rich local vegetables, such as tomatoes and molokhiya. In the restaurant, visitors can enjoy Kei-chan Meal, made with local Ena chicken, the Mugi Tororo (barley with grated yam) Meal, or other local cuisine. One of their most popular meals is the Kashimo Sanmi, which includes a serving of Hoba-zushi and which is made in limited quantities every day.

    Roadside Station Cha no Sato Higashi-Shirakawa is in a beautiful natural setting in the village of Higashi Shirakawa, Kamo Country, the area where the famous Shirakawa tea is grown. There is a plant on the premises where the richly fragrant and deeply flavorful tea, grown in the harsh local climate, is processed and sold to the public. Inside the main building, visitors can buy fresh tea leaves picked in the village and enjoy regional cuisine made with local vegetables, as well as the Tsuchi no Ko Yaki (snake-shaped cakes) that the village is famous for. Visitors can go to the neighboring tourist farm and pick blueberries during the summer, try ayu (sweetfish) fishing in the river, or experience nature in other ways.

    宇治に端を発するとされる白川茶の工場が併設されていて、購入したり飲んだりできるのが特徴です。唐辛子の数倍は辛いとされるこのあたり特産のアジメコショウも買え、お土産に良いと思います。食事はメニューのバリエーションが少なそうでした。

    Roadside Station Minami is a 15-minute drive south on National Route 156 from the Minami Interchange on the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway, in the gateway to the Oku-Mino region. It is situated in a lush natural setting in the clear upper reaches of the Nagaragawa River. All types of information about Gujo is available. Syunsai Ichiba, a market where local farmers sell the agricultural products they have harvested and freshly picked wild plants, is held every morning. Visitors who reserve two days in advance can enjoy the Gottso Box Lunch, made from local ingredients and ideal for taking along on one’s travels. In addition to souvenirs from nearby communities, molokhiya-flavored soft ice cream and the chicken dish Abarenbo Kei-chan are available.

    郡上から南下した国道沿いの道の駅。野菜が安いのと、それなりにお土産も売っています。残念ながらクレカ、電子マネーに対応していません。

    Hirayunomori is a large Onsen (hot springs) resort located in the Oku-Hida Onsen District of Gifu Prefecture. Covering an area of approximately 50,000 square meters, and surrounded by verdant natural forest, Hirayunomori has a total of 16 hot springs baths (with separate baths for men and women) with different levels of mineral content and with different water temperature. All of the baths are supplied using the Gensen-kakenagashi (Free-flowing) method directly from a natural hot springs source. The baths include open-air baths with great views of the surrounding natural scenery, as well as a retro-style large indoor bath. There are ski resorts and campsites in the vicinity, making this a marvelous area for leisure activities. There is plenty for children to do as well, so this is a great choice for a family outing.

    With its stalactite and stalagmite formations, Sekigahara Daishonyu-do (Stalactite Cavern) is a real natural wonder. Visitors can view rainbow trout swimming in the clear water that gushes out from the cave, and there is an abundance of Paleozoic fossils to be seen. The area around the Cavern is full of natural beauty in every season of the year. Besides the spring cherry blossom, the wisteria are in full bloom around May 10 each year, and the autumn foliage is a sight for sore eyes; the autumn foliage season starts around mid-October, but the best time to see the leaves is from around mid-November until early December.

    何でもない、只の小規模な鍾乳洞でした。7月-8月は無休らしいが、普段は水曜日は定休?日らしい。駐車場も完備されていて小規模だが、それなりには楽しめる。但し、料金は京都の社寺並のぼったくり、大人700円、子供300円、幼児まで有料?で200円・・・子供と幼児くらいは無料にしてやれよ!

    This Museum is located in the city of Nakatsugawa in Gifu Prefecture, dedicated to preserving and publicizing the cultural legacy of the feudal Naegi domain. Concentrating on the time period from the Middle Ages, Sengoku Warring States Period to early Meiji Period, and especially the Naegi Toyama family, it contains valuable materials related to the Naegi domain and Naegi Castle. The varied exhibits include armor handed down through the Toyama family, writings by the military leader Takeda Shingen, and letters of appointment to the governorship of Naegi. Volunteer guides show visitors around the ruins of Naegi Castle, including the base of the tower along the Kiso River and the gates, while explaining their origin and history.

    続日本100名城スタンプはこちらの入口向かって左横に出ている。スタンプだけが目当てであれば入場する必要はないが、せっかくなので、城跡に登城する前に多少の入場料を払ってでも見ておいても良いと思う。ただ、所謂歴史民俗資料館と大差がないのはたしか。

    普通のお風呂だけなら 近隣の日帰り温泉と比べると一歩劣ってると思います 他がロウリュウ 岩盤浴 多彩で良すぎる ただ ここには 介護の必要な人と入れる家族風呂が有る 多くの日帰り温泉巡りしたけど こんな所は無かった 施設を作った人 スタッフが素晴らしいと思います 先々 母親が入浴介助が必要になったら利用したいと思います それまで 家から5分なので 偶にJAFの割引使って行きます

    A local train line running 25.1-kilometer from Ena Station on the Chuo Main Line to the end point at Akechi Station. You can take in the tranquil rural scenery from the train window as it winds its way south through the highland area of Higashi-Mino. The area along the way is full of highlights including Iwamura Castle's town, Hanashiro Onsen with its elegant kaiseki cuisine featuring agar vegetable gelatin, and Taisho Village with all the ambiance of that bygone era. The Taisho Roman-go is an express train with a dining car that lets you enjoy seasonal Ena cuisine made with local ingredients, including mushroom dishes and courses featuring agar, a Yamaoka specialty.

    Roadside Station Minami Hida Osaka Hanamomo is located in Osaka-cho in the city of Gero along Prefectural Route 437, and it serves as the gateway to the Hida Osaka Hot Spring Village. There is a processing plant on the premises that makes processed foods out of local agricultural products, and small, handmade craft items are available as well. The Hanamomo Kissa Cafe inside the main building serves a popular light breakfast consisting of Pizza Toast and Kosen Gayu, a rice porridge made with mineral water. Other favorite menu items are Fried Rice made with locally grown garlic, the Natural Yam Meal, Hida Beef Curry, and the Kosen Gayu Meal.

    This insect museum in Gifu City, Gif Prefecture is the oldest museum of its kind still in existence. Founded in 1919, the museum is affiliated with the Nawa Insect Research Center established by Yasushi Nawa, who famously discovered the Gifu butterfly (Luehdorfia japonica). The museum possesses more than 300,000 specimens representing 12,000 varieties of insect from around the world. The museum also breeds and researches a variety of insects. The museum is still located in its original western-style Meiji-era building, a registered tangible cultural property. The museum is located a short bus trip headed towards Nagara from either JR Gifu Station or Meitetsu Gifu Station and a two-minute walk from the Gifu Koen Rekishihakubutsukanmae bus stop.

    岐阜公園内にある、民営の昆虫博物館。建物は大正7年1918年着工で、国の登録有形文化財に指定されています。展示はバッタやアゲハやカブトムシなど身近なものから、世界中の貴重な昆虫が2フロアに展示されています。こんなに大きな昆虫がいるのか、こんな美しい蝶がいるのか、と改めて自然の大事さなどを考えさせてくれます。おすすめです。

    An interactive, activity-oriented science museum, one of only a few in the country, located a 10-minute drive from the Mizunami Interchange on the Chuo Expressway. The museum has very few exhibits, and instead visitors can deepen their interest and understanding of science while having fun participating in the various experiments and creation events the museum holds. Enjoy a variety of experiments and experiences like the museum's hour long science shows combining images projected on a big screen with experiments performed on a stage, and special workshops where you can enjoy an experiment show conducted right in front of your eyes. The museum also holds public courses through which you can explore science more deeply.

    サイエンスワールドは巨大な科学館です。コロナの影響でイベントは全て中止、開店休業で他に来訪者はおりませんでしたが、理科の実験を観察するようなコーナーがあり、建物が広く開放感が有りました。入口付近に目の錯覚を起こす絵がたくさん有り、同じ長さなのに、どちらかの線が長く見えるようなものですが、観察しました。

    Roadside Station Pascal Kiyomi is located almost exactly halfway along National Route 472, “the Seseragi Highway,” which links the cities of Takayama and Gujo. Travelers can visit a tourist farm and fruit orchard or field of lavender, coming into contact with the natural wonders and gorgeous scenery of Hida in all four seasons. This roadside station also actively promotes local products, such as Hida beef, to promote the region itself, and it maintains an information corner and souvenir shop. It puts effort into serving and selling the type of locally produced meals and souvenirs that one expects of the Hida region. In the winter, it serves as the entryway to the Meiho Ski Area, and in the summer, its attractions include fishing and water sports in the Mazegawa River, which flows through the property.

    Roadside Station Hana-Kaido Tsukechi is located in Tsukechi-cho in the city of Nakatsugawa in Gifu Prefecture. It serves as a base for exploring the Tsukechi Gorge and offers a wide variety of facilities. The shop, where agricultural products produced by local farmers and local souvenirs are sold, is built with pillars made of natural hinoki cypress about 300 years old, and it has a high-ceilinged atrium. Everything around is built with cypress wood, making for comfortable, soothing spaces imbued with the scent of cypress. There is a food cart village composed of six food carts, the Rakuichi-Rakuza building which contains clothing and flower shops, and other special products that indicate how much effort this roadside station is putting into PR. The foot bath, fed by water brought daily from the Tsukechi-kyo Kuraya Onsen, is available from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

    お昼に立ち寄りました。メニューは少ないのですが、券売機でオススメの飛騨牛丼定食を買いました。他に鶏チャン定食もオススメのようです。お茶もお水もセルフですが、次々にお客様が入ってくる人気のあるお店のようです。

    Ten minutes by car from Seki Interchange on the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway, this is the world's first blade museum exhibiting precision cutlery and razor blades. It's run by Feather, a razor blade manufacturer. They have a collection of more than 10,000 items on display, including their Giant Feather razor in the entrance hall. Everyone from kids to adults enjoy the museum, with quizzes and pictures, a precision blade corner, a whole wall full of razor art, and a display on the company's product history.
