Roadside Station Kashimo
Roadside Station Kashimo is located on the way to the Hida region from the Nakatsugawa Interchange on the Chuo Expressway. It stands in a rich natural setting surrounded by mountains, and visitors can walk down to the banks of the Nagaragawa River. In addition to Hoba-zushi (sushi wrapped in magnolia leaves) and confections made with mugwort, this roadside station sells unusual flavors of soft ice cream made with mineral-rich local vegetables, such as tomatoes and molokhiya. In the restaurant, visitors can enjoy Kei-chan Meal, made with local Ena chicken, the Mugi Tororo (barley with grated yam) Meal, or other local cuisine. One of their most popular meals is the Kashimo Sanmi, which includes a serving of Hoba-zushi and which is made in limited quantities every day.
