Ena Gorge Cruise, which offers a choice of high-speed jet boats or traditional covered barges, takes passengers on a round trip to Shinanoji (“Three Squares”) Rock, the point at which the Tsukechi River flows into the Kiso River. Passengers can see rock formations looming over them on either side of the riverbank, including Battleship Rock, Lion Rock, Screen Rock, Three Squares Rock, and other oddly shaped rocks and stones, and watch migratory birds fly overhead. The embarkation point for these cruises is located about 10 minutes by car from the Ena Interchange on the Chuo Expressway.

Cheaper to buy the tickets online. Was an enjoyable 30 minutes excursion. As the boat cruises on, we saw white ripples created on the blue water as a result from our passing boat. Along the way, we...

This art gallery is located a 15-minute walk from Nagaragawa Railway Minoshi Station, and exhibits the Mino City’s prize-winning autumn “Mino Washi Akari Art Exhibit.” Inside the gallery, a town with udatsu walls (good for fire protection and symbolizing wealth) is reproduced in a soft and warm light through Mino washi (traditional Japanese paper). Although the work cannot be touched, you are free to take photographs. There is also a museum shop lined with highly artistic lanterns. The wooden two-stories building is a nationally registered tangible cultural property since it is a valuable structure that is as it was in the early Showa era (1926-1989).

A MUST when in Mino. It is very beautiful. An exhibition of many lanterns and paper craft. It was my second visit here.

"An 80-minute drive from the Gifu-Hashima Interchange on the Meishin Expressway and a three-minute drive from the Motosu City Office Neo Branch Government Office. This park was built around the Usuzumi Zakura, a famous ancient cherry tree designated a National Natural Monument estimated to be more than 1,500 years old. ""Usuzumi Zakura"" translates to ""pale ink cherry tree,"" a name derived from the fact the tree appears to have been painted in pale black ink when its white blossoms fall. When the tree is in full bloom in early April, the area bustles with large numbers of visitors, and the tree is lit up at night with LED lights which do not hurt it. The tree has also been selected for inclusion in the Japan Top 100 Sakura Viewing Sites list."

"A retro townscape of merchant houses and warehouses built between the early Meiji and Showa eras, the 400-meter-long area is dotted with Mino ware stores, galleries, cafes, etc. It was created in an effort to incorporate the free and innovative ideas of Oribe Furuta, a warlord from Gifu Prefecture and a renowned tea master, into modern town development. The ""Ceramic City Creation Hall,"" located in the center of the town, offers a wide variety of ceramics, from traditional Mino ware to works by young ceramic artists."

This museum is located about 20 minutes from the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway Mino Interchange via National Route 156 and Prefectural Route 81. The museum introduces from various perspectives the world of Shisai style paper patchwork, with its traditions and hidden possibilities for the future, and history and techniques of Mino washi traditional Japanese paper passed down in the Mino area. The first exhibition room introduces the production areas of washi paper throughout Japan, history of washi, and papermaking technology. In the second exhibition room, they give concrete suggestions about practical uses of washi paper in everyday living spaces. In addition, you can also have a “papermaking experience” using authentic tools and natural ingredients in the workshop.

Nice Museum located in Mino City, Gifu Prefecture. But i think it should have more papers and paper exhibits on display. They had very few.

This is the former residence of the Imai family who were wealthy merchants in what today is Mino City. Originally built in the middle of the Edo Period, it was reportedly expanded in the early Meiji Period. As paper merchants and the head of the village, they were extremely wealthy, and the house was the most splendid in the region. The Meiji Period addition included a three-meter skylight. The courtyard has an elegant suikinkutsu, used to make a special dripping sound, and has been designated as one of the Top 100 Soundscapes of Japan. Mino historic museum is at the back. Its Udatsu Kura has displays on udatsu (old roof ridges) and you can learn about Niwaka (an impromptu comic play) in its Niwaka Kura.

Very interesting old residence. Beautiful garden and well kept hidden treasure. Will be back again in the future.

You can relax in the hot springs while gazing out on the Hida River and the surrounding mountains from the inner baths of Japanese cypress. Because there is no shampoo, body soap or towels, you will need to prepare and bring them in advance or purchase them there. At the front of the building, there is a free footbath with a statue of Venus in the center, making it a place bustling with many tourists.
