Michi no Eki Road Station

Roadside Station Minami is a 15-minute drive south on National Route 156 from the Minami Interchange on the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway, in the gateway to the Oku-Mino region. It is situated in a lush natural setting in the clear upper reaches of the Nagaragawa River. All types of information about Gujo is available. Syunsai Ichiba, a market where local farmers sell the agricultural products they have harvested and freshly picked wild plants, is held every morning. Visitors who reserve two days in advance can enjoy the Gottso Box Lunch, made from local ingredients and ideal for taking along on one’s travels. In addition to souvenirs from nearby communities, molokhiya-flavored soft ice cream and the chicken dish Abarenbo Kei-chan are available.

Review of Michi no Eki Minami

TripAdvisor Traveler Rating
Reviewed:2020/06/01

Tucked away in the very center of Japan, Gifu prefecture houses mountains, old towns, and one of Japan's greatest hot springs, Gero Onsen. A tour of the prefecture's traditional architecture will take you from the mountain-enveloped wooden streets of Takayama to the mountain village of Shirakawago, where visitors can explore 250-year-old thatched roofed houses known as gassho-zukuri.
