    A tea house located on the grounds of the Zen Buddhist Jomyo-ji Temple, the fifth of the “Kamakura Gozan” (Five Mountain Temples of Kamakura), which is located in the Kanazawa Kaido Nikaido area. In the quiet stillness of the house, visitors can enjoy matcha tea, high class Japanese confections, or dried candies while looking out over a dry landscape garden.

    A shop located close to the Kencho-ji Temple and housed inside a remodeled private home dating to the late Edo period. The first floor is a gallery, while the second floor is a restaurant serving ozen meals made with hearty portions of Kamakura-grown vegetables. The shop’s ozen set meals come with such delicious dishes as kenchin-jiru (vegetable and tofu chowder), said to have been invented at the nearby Kencho-ji Temple.

    A hiking trail in Kamakura City. The trail stretches around 5.5km from Hansobo Shrine on the rear hill behind Kenchoji Temple along a mountain ridge to Mt. Jubusen and Mt. Ohirayama and is dotted with sights including Juoiwa Rocks, the Katsueken lookout platform, the Hyakuhachi-yagura cave-tombs, and the Kaifuki Jizo statue. Zuisenji Temple at the end of the trail is famous for its fall colors and flowers.

    This art museum was opened based on the desire of Minamoto Kitchoan, head of the Kitchoan family, to share with the public his collection of elegant tableware he had collected to serve Japanese confections on. The museum holds several special exhibitions throughout the year, presenting the Japanese crafts and food culture which reflects the charms of the seasons. The museum displays a seasonally-changing and diverse collection of pieces, including tableware by Kitaoji Rosanjin, a noted artist who also worked as a chef; and lacquerware which conveys traditional Japanese culture.

    大ホールにクラシックコンサートを聴きに行った。 日本では少し珍しいシューボックス型。響きの良さはさすがです。特に低音域。コントラバスがこれだけ聞こえるのは初体験でした。 でも、個人の好みとしては少し反響し過ぎて、高音域と迫力が物足りない。 ただ、まだ新しい建築なので、これからどんどん音が良くなる期待が持てる。良いホールでした。

    北鎌倉駅から円覚寺に向かって歩いていたらありました。非常に便利なところです。いやでも目につきます。聞いた話では築100年以上の古民家とか。素晴らしいことです。こういう形で古民家を残していけるとは。建築を勉強している人は是非、見学してください。

    夫婦池公園、聞いてはいましたが、かなり、マイナーです。わざわざ来る人はいないと思います。鎌倉山の美味しいお店でランチをしてその帰りに寄りました。防空壕の跡があります。

    北大路魯山人の展示品がありました。才能の煌めきの数々を見るのはとても楽しいです。小町通りにある源吉兆庵のお店の裏側にありました。来る人はなく一人でゆっくりと優雅な鑑賞でした。

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
