Nicknamed the ""Turtle Center,"" the facility's activities including protecting sick and injured sea turtles, and incubating sea turtle eggs and releasing the hatchlings into the ocean. The facility has museum and rearing areas; in the museum area, you can learn about the history of Ogasawara and sea turtles around the world through photos and informational panels. The facility also holds sea turtle classes for this who want to deepen their understanding of these marine creatures. Some 250 to 300 sea turtles are kept in the rearing area, and here visitors can feed sea turtles and take pictures holding baby turtles."

    An agricultural research facility located on Chichijima Island, one of the Ogasawara Islands. The facility consists of areas open to the general public as well as non-public areas occupied by research facilities; visitors may freely visit the public areas. A variety of plants bloom in the public areas, including rare plants native to the Ogasawara Islands, and tropical plants. Tropical fruit trees and other plants grown on the Ogasawara Islands are displayed in an exhibition greenhouse, and these may be freely viewed by visitors. In the facility's palm tree garden, you can see palm trees from around the world. The exhibition garden areas have walking paths, and you can take an enjoyable stroll while viewing tropical plants cultivated on a mountainside. An observatory at the top of the mountain provides a sweeping view of Futami Bay.
