The cafe was founded in 1978. The cafe was established by the owner out of a desire to create a tea dojo where young people could experience the true deliciousness of tea. Here you can drink, eat, and experience the diverse flavors of high quality Uji-cha tea. The tokusen chacha parfait is particularly recommended. A parfait of matcha powdered green tea, hoji-cha roasted green tea, and genmai-cha tea jelly with matcha and genmai-cha warabimochi braken starch dumplings, it's truly parade of teas. The three varieties of tea ice cream in the parfait have a rich yet refreshing flavor.

    An apple pie and sweets shop produced by Akiko Hirano located a four minute walk from Daikan-yama Station. The name Matsunosuke comes from Hirano's grandfather, who was a Noh costume artisan. Here you can enjoy healthy baked sweets and traditional treats from New England in the U.S. Particularly popular are the authentic American apple pies, made by baking fresh, uncooked apples wrapped as-is in the pie crust; and the rich, creamy New York cheesecake. The shop's fluffy pancake lunch is only served on weekdays.

    Must visit if you love pancakes. After 10 am the have the best pancakes I’ve ever eaten in this tiny restaurant. Worth the trip if you are in Kyoto.

The shape of Ringo’s pies was developed and refined over a 30 year period by the renowned Kinotoya pastry shop in Sapporo.

    While visiting Ikebukuro, dont miss the shop selling their pies. You can actually smell them in the street. Not many choices (3-4) but they are all delicious. Sometimes, you may have to line up...

    接客が良い。大声で話したり、きゃっきゃっと騒ぐ人もいないので、コロナ禍でも安心して利用できる。 食事も平均以上。今回ミルフィーユを頂いた。個人的にはカスタードがもう少し甘さ控えめが好み。いちごの揃え方や、大きさなど非常に良い。お手洗いに続くカーペットが少し経年劣化を感じるので残念なのと、お皿の洗いが甘い(油が洗いきれていない)のが気になった。

Chocolate pies made with Gianduiotto are only sold here at the Tokyo Station Location.

The shop is mainly known for their macarons that are prepared with traditional techniques from the Edo period. They use a marzipan base with meringue added to it for a thick, round appearance. Their macarons are soft on the inside and wonderfully crisp on the outside. There's a salon on the 2nd floor where guests can order drinks to pair with their macarons. In addition to cake and pastries, they feature an extensive lineup of menu items to eat as well, including croque monsieur and gratin, which makes this a perfect spot to take break when you're out exploring Jiyugaoka.
