  • Kitakaro Sunagawa Main Shop

    The cake shop that sits on Route 12 in Sunagawa City, Hokkaido, is home to the Jumbo Cream Puff, made famous through word of mouth by cabin attendants and domestic pilots. In addition to selling a wide variety of sweets such as cakes, Japanese sweets, and okaki (rice crackers), there’s also a coffee lounge and a gallery inside the shop. You can enjoy the taste of homemade French cakes and omurice (omelette with rice) with Hokkaido beef in the cozy cafe style setting. It’s possible to go into the garden complete with fountain with your dog (meals not permitted).

    A wonderfully pretty cake shop in Furano City, Hokkaido, surrounded by trees and flowers. Furano Delice sells a variety of sweets using locally sourced ingredients from Hokkaido and Furano. There’s a large selection of cakes on display ideal to eat at home or take away as a gift, such as the full-flavored Furano Milk pudding and their signature cake Double Fromage, with two types of cheese. There are places where you can sit down and eat in the shop and also an area to arrange shipment of your newly purchased goods!
  • Cranberry Main Store

    The main store of Cranberry, a cake shop famous also for its nationwide product fairs and online business, based in Obihiro City, Hokkaido. The store’s most famous sweet, which has been loved since its establishment in 1972 and exceeds over 500 grams, is the large sweet potato. Encased in the skin of the sweet potato to give its unique appearance, the soft sweetness harnessing the potato’s flavor is a big hit with customers. There is also a coffee shop area in the shop where you can taste Cranberry’s sweet potatoes and cakes.

    Opened in 1929, this long-standing cake shop began business as a restaurant and shop selling the Otaru specialty of panju, a mix of bread and manju (a bun with bean-jam filling). Now the shop specializes in selling cookies, creme caramel, baumkuchen (a German variety of cake) and other kinds of confectionary. Its signature product is the baked Marron Coron, famous also as a sweet from Hokkaido. In the cafe area on the second floor are wine red sofas where you can sit back and enjoy the fine sweets such as the popular cream zenzai (sweet red bean soup with ice cream), cakes and parfait all in the retro style surroundings of the Showa period. The nearest station is Otaru Station.
  • Rokkatei Sapporo Main Store
    Hokkaido Sapporoshi Chuou-ku Kitayonjounishi 6-3-3
    This is the Sapporo head office of Rokkatei, probably the most famous confectioner in Hokkaido. The building houses a shop, a cafe, a concert hall, and a gallery. You can purchase Rokkatei confectionery from the shop on the first floor, including their classic Marusei Butter Sandwich Cake, and the Marusei Ice Cream Sandwich Cake, amongst other things. Light food and desserts are served in the cafe on the second floor with the aromatic mugwort mochi (rice cake) and croissants being particularly popular. It’s a popular place to visit for tea or lunch as well as a great place to come and buy some souvenirs when sightseeing in Sapporo. The nearest station is Sapporo Station.

    A branch shop of the famous Hokkaido confectioner, Rokkatei, located in Obihiro City, Hokkaido. The red walled landmark building built with approximately 100,000 Tokachi bricks is home to a very spacious store with a confectionery shop, a cafe, and a product demonstration area. You can purchase all sorts of Rokkatei sweets, such as Marusei Butter Sandwich Cake, a classic Hokkaido souvenir, as well as their strawberry chocolate which is freeze dried strawberry covered with chocolate.
  • Rokkatei Obihiro Main Store

    This is the Obihiro head office of the famous Hokkaido confectioner, Rokkatei, of which the company was originally founded in Obihiro City. All kinds of Rokkatei sweets are sold here, such as the classic Hokkaido souvenir Marusei Butter Sandwich Cake and sweets made with white chocolate, etc. On the second floor is a cafe where you can get some light food and desserts. Popular dishes are the Saku Saku Pie with thick cream wrapped in pastry, and the Marusei Ice Cream Sandwich Cake. Also in the building is a well-established western-style restaurant, an art gallery and event halls.
    Hokkaido Otarushi Inaho 3-9-1 Sun Building Square 1F
    Located close to Otaru Station is this shop of the famous Hokkaido confectioner, LeTAO. In the display inside the shop you can find colorful fresh cakes including their signature cheesecake Double Fromage, and roll cakes, available in limited quantities. Chocolates and baked confectioneries from here are particularly good as gifts. They also have a cafe area which is busy both with locals and tourists.
  • LeTAO Plus

    LeTAO Plus not only sells popular items from the famous Hokkaido confectioner LeTAO but also provides a host of specialty take-out shops too. Their signature sweet, Double Fromage, and the cream parfait topped with raspberry sauce, are both hugely popular and available only in limited quantities. You can relax and enjoy all the wonderful cakes inside the shop or outside on the terraced area. The thick and creamy hot chocolate drink unique to LeTAO and only available during the winter is a particular favorite. LeTAO Plus is a great place to buy some souvenirs or to rest your weary feet when sightseeing. The nearest station is Minami-Otaru Station.

    A unique specialty chocolate store managed by the famous Hokkaido confectioner and former chocolate company, LeTAO. More than 50 kinds of chocolate made from a variety of ingredients carefully selected from around the world are on display here in the shop. Of these only about 20 kinds of chocolate are sold at LeTAO le chocolat. They have a wide choice of products only available at the store such as chocolate drinks made by the chocolatiers and the rich and creamy chocolate soft ice cream. The most popular dessert is “Omu Parfait” which is a fluffy omelet decorated with ingredients such as custard cream, red bean paste, fresh cream, and fruit etc. They hold eat-all-you-want sweets and refreshment events called “Bisse Kintoya Festa” for a limited time enjoyed by many fans, especially women.

    This is a western-style confectionery shop approximately three minutes by foot from JR Hakodate Station, and it is particularly famous for its “Cheese Omelet” soufflé cheesecake which has a food texture similar to a half cooked omelet. The natural flavor is popular with them being fastidious about the raw materials which are put in such as the eggs and the milk which are made in Hokkaido. There are also various sweets such as tarts and baked sweets for sale in the first floor shop. The second floor tearoom is predominantly white and a space which gets good sunlight. You can also relax and enjoy tea while tasting sweets such as the cakes which they boast about.
  • Lake Mashu’s Ice cream

    This sweets shop is located in the vicinity of the entrance to the sightseeing district of “Lake Mashu”, Teshikaga Town in the Kawakami County of Hokkaido, and this lovely light yellow building is a landmark. You can taste rich sweets such as the ice creams, soft serve ice cream and crepes which have been made using plenty of the milk which has been milked in the morning from the dairy cows which are raised on the underground water from Lake Mashu. The most popular is the special rich milk soft serve ice cream, and the Mashu blue ice cream is also popular. The shop’s interior has a bright open space where you can eat in.
    Hokkaido Sapporoshi Chuou-ku Fushimi 2-2-20
    This store located at the foot of “Mt. Moiwa” in Sapporo City, Hokkaido specializes in handmade ice cream. There is usually 20 types of ice cream available which are made using fresh milk from southern Hokkaido and fruits and vegetables from Hokkaido. The deep richness and refreshing aftertaste of this ice cream is popular. There is a specialist parfait shop on the second floor, which offers such products as multicolored parfaits and cream zenzai (red adzuki beans with ice cream). The terrace seating area overflowing with greenery is a place of solace, and while taking in the views of the main urban areas, you can fully appreciate a moment of relaxation. The limited seasonal menu is also popular.

    The main location of a Western confectionary shop from Otaru, Hokkaido. The easily identifiable exterior is modeled after a cute, old European tower. The shop's signature item is its Double Fromage, a melt-in-your mouth cheesecake made with top quality ingredients and consisting of a baked and non-baked layer. The shop can also ship products throughout Japan and you can always enjoy fresh-made cheesecake and creme brulee in the cafe area.
  • Ezo Amupurin Seizosho

    A handmade pudding studio. Paying particular attention to the ingredients and hand preparation methods, the studio makes just 18 puddings a day. Popular for ordering shipped to one's home, the wait list for this service is several months long. Ezo Amupurin Seizosho uses fresh raw milk procured from a nearby dairy farmer and only domestic eggs and beet sugar. In order to ensure a smooth texture, all of the ingredients are carefully mixed until just before being poured into a 30 centimeter diameter Sue ware dish to be baked. Direct purchases at the studio require an advance reservation. The studio's pudding can also be ordered at Farm & Cafe Berries a 40 minute drive away.
  • Okashi no Yakata no Akutsu

    A Western confectionary shop with close ties to the local community located in Obihiro. The shop offers a variety of sweets made with ingredients from the Tokachi area. The shop's signature product is its Milk Road sponge cakes made with plenty of butter and coated bottom and top with white chocolate. Many of its products have charming names relating to the local area, such as the Ezo Violet Azalea and the Tokachi Diary cakes. The shop has no eat-in space and offers takeout sales only. The shop's soft serve ice cream, however, is a popular treat to enjoy on the go while walking about town.

The shop's showcases are filled with sweets such as Kinotoya's fresh-baked cheese tart, selected as the number one sweet New Chitose Airport workers themselves would choose to buy. Kinotoya itself and this treat are so popular you'll often find long lines of people waiting to buy a tart. Other great souvenirs you can buy include the Hokkaido baked cheese cake, which was awarded the grand prize in the Hokkaido Sweets Contest; and Kinotoya's signature Sapporo Agricultural College Hokkaido milk cookies.

    A Western confectionary shop focusing on chocolate located in Hakodate City. Dedicated to using Hokkaido ingredients such as milk from Suzuki Farm, Chouette Cacao carefully prepares its treats by hand to bring out the true delicate flavor of chocolate. Sweets on offer include the Hakodate Brick Nama Chocolate, made to look like little bricks and created with fresh cream and top class Couverture chocolate; L'eclat 813, a chocolate cake dusted with gold modeled after the Hakodate nightscape; and soft Pororo cookies named after the cry of the owl.
