江戸時代、流山で酒造業を営んでいた、豪商の秋元三左衛門は「双樹」と号して俳句をたしなみ、俳人「小林一茶」と親交を結んでいました。小林一茶は秋元家を50回以上訪れた記録が残っています。この秋元家の住まいを流山市が整備して「小林一茶双樹記念館」として保存、公開しているものです。江戸時代末期の商家建築様式であり一見の価値があります。
