"The Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel is the world's largest man-made underground river, constructed in the eastern part of Saitama Prefecture, around 30 minutes' drive from either the Satte Interchange and the Goka Interchange of the Metropolitan Inter-City Expressway. The underground discharge tunnels extend for 6.3 kilometers at a depth of 50 meters below the surface; the project comprises intake channels, discharge tunnels, and pumping equipment.
