Nagatoro Cherry Tree Rows
These cherry trees are near Nagatoro Station on the Chichibu Railway's Chichibu Main Line. There are many famous cherry blossom spots in town. Kita Sakura Dori Street, Minami Sakura Dori Street, and the road approaching Hodosan Shrine are particularly well known. Kita Sakura Dori Street runs from Takasago Bridge near Nogami Station on the Chichibu Line to Nagatoro Station. Minami Sakura Dori Steet runs south from Nagatoro Station to Kaminagatoro Station. The road to Hodosan Shrine runs from Nagatoro Station towards the shrine. The branches of the cherry trees on Kita and Minami Sakura Dori Street extend from both sides of the road, forming a spectacular cherry blossom tunnel. These have been chosen as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Sites.
