- At this horse-riding club, a 25-minute drive from the Kokonoe Interchange on the Oita Expressway, you can easily enjoy Western-style horseback riding amidst the green hills of the Handa Highland. The club's staff provide attentive instruction, ensuring even beginners can have fun in safety. The club offers a variety of courses, from tether-led rides for beginners to highland trail rides for experienced riders. The club's mini trail ride course is particularly popular and makes it possible even for beginners and children to enjoy a trail ride. The club also has an indoor arena, making it possible to take lessons even on rainy days. During longer school holiday periods, the club holds short stay riding school classes.

ドライブ途中に見つけて急遽寄りました 小さな子供（未就園児）でも親と一緒なら乗馬できるとのこと！ ただ親子2人15分ほどで結構なお値段だったので今回は見学のみ、売ってあったニンジンをお馬さんにあげて終わりにしました 色んなコースがありました 馬も皆穏やかで、もう少しあたたかくなったらチャレンジしてみたいなと思いました 動物好きな子どもさんにオススメです^ ^

- This shop, a 10-minute walk from JR Yokoku Station, sells Hiji-yaki pottery, such as plates modeled after Hiji's famous brand name Shiroshita Karei marbled sole fish. The shop also sells unique guinomi large sake cups and yunomi tea cups decorated with a cute sole fish clinging to the bottom which looks like it's swimming when tea or sake is poured in. The shop's sole fish-shaped chopstick rests and small otesho dishes are reasonably priced and are popular to buy as souvenirs. In the shop's studio area, you can try making pottery by hand. Those interested in participating in the pottery making activity should make a reservation by 5:00 p.m. no later than five days in advance.

- This regional industry promotion center is located close to the Tamagawa Junction of Three Roads Intersection. The center engages in a variety of initiatives concerning local industry and also sells some 20,000 items such as crafts and agricultural products from Hita City and the surrounding region. The center carries a wide selection and is a great place to stop by when looking for souvenirs. Examples of things you can find here include Onta ware, a local specialty product from the city's Sarayama area which is made with local clay and fired with local cedar wood; Hita geta sandals, which are produced in some of the greatest quantities of anywhere in the country; barley shochus and other renowned alcoholic beverages; fresh shiitake mushrooms; enoha landlocked masu salmon; and well-known local confections. The center also has conference rooms and exhibition spaces which can be rented out.

Oita Areas
A trip to Oita is tantamount to a long soak in the Beppu baths. The mountainous, coastal prefecture of Oita is renowned for having more onsen than any other prefecture in Japan, most of which lie in the city of Beppu on the west coast of Kyushu, recognizable by its pungent sulphuric aroma and the clouds of steam that puff up across the hillside.
