This is a Japanese garden in Himeji City. The gardens were opened in 1992 and make the best use of the ruins of the samurai residence at Himeji Castle Nishioyashiki-ato. The gardens are on grounds of approximately 3.3 hectare and command a view of the World Heritage Site, Himeji Castle—and the gardens contains a group of nine different types of garden such as “The garden of the Lord’s residence” which has a large pond that is home to 250 colourful carp and a waterfall. The gardens are also used as a location for historical dramas as the gardens have scenery reminiscent of the Edo period such as the Tsuiji wall (mud wall with a tiled roof) and the Yashiki-mon Gate. It is well known as a site famed for its autumn leaves, and also holds an illumination during the season.

Incredibly calm and beautiful Gardens. From the well manicured plants and shrubs, to the lovely koi in the lake, it is great to get away from the hustle and bustle of Himeji castle and chill. There...

Also known as the White Heron Castle, this shining white castle is registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Structures such as the castle tower built in the early Edo period still stand today, and these are also registered as National treasures and national Important Cultural Properties. One of the most prominent theories is that the castle was originally erected as a fort by Akamatsu Sadanori in 1346. Ikeda Terumasa began renovating the castle when he became the lord of the castle after the Battle of Sekigahara, expanding it into the expansive compound seen today. The castle tower is located in the southeast corner of the foundation. The castle looks to be composed of five tiers from the outside and internally is comprised of six floors above ground and one subterranean level. The castle shining a blinding white in the light of the sun is truly a beautiful sight.

A Tendai sect Buddhist temple which is the 27th station on the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage. Founded in 966 by the priest Shoku, due to its high status, it is nicknamed the Mt. Hiei (a mountain sacred to the Tendai sect) of the West. The entire top of Mt. Shosha is dotted with the temple’s buildings, such as the great hall which serves as the main temple nave, the refectory, and Jogyodo Hall. Today, visitors can take a ropeway to Sanjo Station, the closest station to the temple, after which it’s an approximately one kilometer/20 minute walk along the temple path before reaching the Maniden Hall in the center of the mountain. A microbus service is also available. The grounds contain a dining hall where visitors can enjoy traditional Buddhist vegetarian cuisine, as well as a traditional lodging house for pilgrims.

Such an incredible area. I visited Shoshazan Engyohi with the intent on hiking up here. I took the trail from the parking lot near the tramway and it took 30 minutes to hike to the top. The trail was...

"A Buddhist temple located a 20-minute drive from the Sanda-nishi interchange on the Maizuru-Wakasa Expressway. The temple has two main buildings, the Daikodo enshrine a thousand-armed statue of Kannon and the Konponchudo enshrining an 11-headed Kanzeon Bodhisattva which is rarely shown to the public, the temple's principal object of worship. Cherry trees and rhododendrons grow on the grounds and visitors can enjoy the sight of their blossoms from late April to mid-May. The temple is also the 25th temple on the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage and, in order to distinguish it from the Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto, the temple is also known as the ""Banshu Kiyomizu-dera."""

This temple is impressive for being up high on a hillside. We did not drink from the stream. It is a beautiful temple, but it is best to go with a guide so you understand what you are seeing and...

This expansive park is approximately ten minutes by car from the Sanyo Expressway's Ako Interchange. Built on a large former saltpan in 1987, it gives a glimpse into Ako's history. It has lots of entertaining spots for the whole family, including a boat and canoe launch, the Wanpaku Playground with a shipwreck-shaped playscape and obstacle courses, and the Wakuwaku Fun Park with rides like a large Ferris wheel. There's lots of greenery, so it's a great place for a stroll while taking in the birdlife and seasonal flowers. It has a car camping ground too, so you can enjoy the beautiful environment at your leisure.

    赤穂市にある広大な公園です。海に面しているので、夏は特に、家族連れには楽しいでしょうね。観覧車などのアトラクションもあるのですが、時間もなくて断念。塩づくり体験など、ユニークな体験プログラムも用意されているそうです。

The hotel's casual restaurant serves reasonably priced lunches, while its more formal restaurant offers a kaiseki course cuisine lunch (advance reservation required).

This aquarium is in Tegarayama Central Park in Nishinobusue, Himeji City. Its main building has marine life including sea turtles, penguins, and schools of pilchard, and its annex is home to an African spurred tortoise and freshwater fish. A stream on the roof of the main building lets kids interact with the fish, and a biotope reproduces a typical pond from the Harima region. Visitors can view numerous kofun burial mounds and other historic sites on the grounds. The best time to enjoy the park's plum blossoms is from late February to early March, and throughout this time period events such as haiku tournaments and landscape photography contests are held. Events are also often held here on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, including trained monkey shows, live koto performances, and plum seed spitting contests. Additional highlights include stone monuments inscribed with haiku written by famous visitors inspired by the sight of Mt. Ayabe plum grove, and a seasonal farm fresh shop which sells fresh-picked unripe plums for cooking.

The station serves as a gathering space and local information center as well as a base for community activities in the eastern Harima area. The Yumemachibito shop sells local specialty products; the soft serve ice cream, made with milk from a farm in the northern Harima area, is particularly popular. There's also a farmer's market hall which carries fresh vegetables, flowers, rice, and foods from producers in Kato City; a tourist information corner; and a 24-hour electric vehicle rapid charging station.
