An all-weather theme park located on Port Island in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. Its predecessor was the Kobe Flower and Bird Garden, a facility which brought guests in contact with flowers and birds. The park contains numerous greenhouses and outdoor exhibition spaces where tropical flowers bloom in profusion. Numerous varieties of animals and birds are also allowed to roam the park freely, or can be view up close in special exhibits. Visitors can enjoy getting close to and even feeding rare birds, capybara, alpacas, and penguins. The impressive bird show and dog performances are a must-see. The park’s seasonal buffet can be enjoyed by all ages, from children to senior citizens, making it well-received with families.

This is a shrine located in Kobe City. The shrine has a history of more than 1,800 years dating back to the time of Empress Jingu, and its founding is also noted in the “Nihon Shoki” (second oldest book of classical Japanese history). It is famous as a shrine which brings love to a happy conclusion, and is also famous for marriage and prayers for easy childbirth; the shrine is fondly known by the pet name of “Ikuta San”. The vermilion-lacquered columns of the tower gate and the main shrine are impressive, so the shrine is also popular as a ceremonial hall for Shinto weddings. A municipal park with an exotic atmosphere opened in 1900. The park is located at the foot of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge a five-minute walk from Maiko Station on the JR San'yo Main Line as well as Sanyo Electric Railway Maiko-koen Station. Maiko Beach is known for its spectacular white sands and green pines as well as its commanding view of Awaji Island and has been praised in poem and song since ancient times. Today, some 1,800 pines grow in a grove in the area. Various historic structures restored or rebuilt to their full glory stand on the park's grounds and are open to the public, such as the Former Residence of the Kinoshita Family, an early modern Japanese home built in the tea ceremony arbor style; and the Former Residence of Sanji Muto, a Western-style home built in the Colonial style.

This is a shrine located in Kobe City. Sugawara Michizane known as the god of learning is enshrined here. The temple is positioned on a hill in Kitano, where the cultures of foreign countries remain; it was named “Tenku (roof of Heaven) shrine” as it commands a view of Kobe Kitano Ijinkan. In 1180 on the occasion of Taira no Kiyomori transferring the capital to Kobe, this temple was created on the transfer and enshrining of the capital’s guardian deity to Kyoto Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. The main shrine, front shrine and “Torii” (Shinto shrine archway) have all been designated as Important Traditional Buildings.

"A Shinto shrine conveniently located a three-minute walk from Kobe Station and Kosoku Kobe Station as well as a five-minute walk from Okurayama Station and Harborland Station. The shrine is dedicated to Kusunoki Masashige, who worked to take down the Kamakura shogunate government and later battled the army of Ashikaga Takauji. Locally, the shrine is known as ""Nanko-san."" The grounds encompass a graveyard and battleground designated National Historic Sites. The Nanko Festival, started as an unofficial festival by private citizens on May 25, 1872, is now held every five years; during the festival, a parade is conducted with people dressed in traditional samurai costumes. Located in Kobe City, Kobe City Museum was opened in 1982. The building that houses the Museum was originally constructed to serve as the Kobe Branch of the former Yokohama Specie Bank; some extension work was undertaken when it was redeveloped to house the Museum. The building is registered as a National Tangible Cultural Property; it was the last building project completed by the famous architect Sakurai Kotaro. There are around 70,000 items in the Museum’s collections, including National Treasures; the items include archeological finds, works of art imported into Japan from Southeast Asia and Europe during the Edo period and earlier, art related to Kobe, the “Portrait of St. Francis Xavier” and other famous artworks, etc. Besides the Museum’s permanent exhibitions, several thematic exhibitions are held every year.

A Japanese garden in the style of a path around a central pond which includes a waterfall, stepping stones, stone bridge, and pond on spacious 20 thousand square meter grounds. The garden is famous for its azaleas in spring and fall foliage in autumn. Originally the garden in the principle home of Kodera Taijiro, a retainer of Sanda Domain, the garden was started in 1885 and completed in the late Meiji period. This ancient temple is the head temple of Sumadera Sect of Shingon Buddhism and is also connected to the history of the rival Genji and Heike clans. The temple's principal object of worship is a statue of Sacred Avalokitesvara said to have emerged from the ocean in the distant early Heian period. An excursion style promenade installed on the girders of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge in a corner of Maiko Park a five-minute walk from Maiko Station on the JR San'yo Main Line and Sanyo Electric Railway Maiko-koen Station. The 317-meter long promenade is positioned 47 meters above the surface of the ocean below. The walkway is modeled after an old-fashioned log bridge and features glass window floors on either side of a log, enabling visitors can enjoy a thrilling aerial walk high above the ocean in perfect safety. Information on the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is presented in the first-floor entranceway area. A camera system in the eighth-floor observation lounge enables visitors to experience what the view is like at the top of the one of the 300-meter-tall bridge's towers.
