  • Miyanotani Gorge
    Travel / Tourism
    Mie Pref. Matsusakashi Itakachouhachisu
Miyanodani Gorge is located in Muro-Akame-Aoyama Quasi-National Park in the city of Matsuzaka, Mie Prefecture. It is located on the upper reaches of the Hasu River, which flows through a nearly untouched natural area. Because the volume of water is small in proportion to the drop, Kazaore Falls is bent in the middle, and there is also a 60-meter Takadaki waterfall. Rock formations, such as Inutobi-iwa Rock and Rokkaku Byobu Rock, have given the gorge a reputation for its scenery. In addition, a four-kilometer path has been laid out in an old-growth forest, and the area is especially attractive in the fall, when the leaves change color.

The natural environment surrounding the falls is beautiful in every season, and scenic trails have been laid out so that visitors can easily walk around in the lovely scenery. On clear days, one can sometimes see rainbows in the falls.
