It is located on Oharaimachi-dori Avenue in Ujiimazaike-cho in the city of Ise, Mie Prefecture. Himonojuku sells fish that is purchased at the markets in places such as Owase and Minami-Ise and processed and dried at the shop's own plant. Only natural, color-free domestic salt is used in drying the fish. In the front part of the store is a large metal griddle where employees grill dried fish for customers to sample. "This cutlery store is located in Futamiura, location of Mie's famous Meotoiwa ""husband and wife"" rocks. Located in a corner of the Meotoiwa Omotesando between the Meotoiwa and Futaminoura Station, the shop sells kitchen knives, scissors, sickles, chisels, and other cutlery. The shop's most popular product, its all-purpose knives, contain VG-10 steel sandwiched between flexible stainless steel, and can be used for preparing meat and vegetables. Many professional chefs from far and wide make their way here seeking the shop's metal handle all-purpose knives and blue steel all-purpose knives made with top grade Yasuki Aogami blue steel sandwiched in between stainless steel ore."

Mie Areas

around-area-map

Spread across the eastern side of the Kii Peninsula, Mie prefecture boasts hundreds of kilometers of pretty coastline comprising the oyster-rich Toba city and Shima National Park all the way down to Kumano, a city that marks the beginning of part of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, which runs into neighboring Wakayama prefecture. However, Mie is best known for the Ise Jingu Shinto shrine inland, one of the oldest and largest shrines in the country.
