This high-rise building in Nagoya is the tallest in the Chubu region at 247 meters. In the office section are the offices of world-famous companies such as Toyota Motor, and a double deck two-story elevator is in operation there. Sky Promenade, the outside observatory on the highest floor, offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Nagoya and is popular spot to enjoy the cityscape. The commercial tower houses shops belonging to the world’s top brands, as well as fashion and lifestyle boutique shops, restaurants and a cinema complex.

Exiting Nagoya Station on the Sakura-Dori side, it is hard not to be impressed with the modernistic cityscape that confronts you. Facing to your right is the Midland Square building. Not the most...

A large mannequin standing at the entrance to the men's area on the first floor of the Meitetsu Department Store Men's Building in front of Nagoya Station. The mannequin was created in 1973 on the one year anniversary of the opening of the Seven Building (later renamed the Young Building and closed in 2011) to serve as a symbol of that facility. Throughout the year, the mannequin is dressed in a variety of seasonal outfits. The mannequin also serves as a popular meetup spot.

This wouldnt have made my things to do list in Nagoya but I happen to be around the area and stumbled upon it. So there, a mannequin. A gigantic one nonetheless. But is it worth planning it into...

Kiyosu was somewhere everyone wanted to have. The reason was because it is located at the point where the Kamakura and Ise highways cross. Nobunaga Oda occupied the castle in 1555. It is famous as the place where the Kiyosu Conference to decide Nobunaga’s successor was held. In the exhibitions from the first to fourth floors of the castle tower, you can learn about the history of Kiyosu and the exploits of its rulers. The top floor offers an amazing view of cherry blossoms blooming along the Gojo River in the spring.

Im sure youll like this castle. Its not only the place, all of people working here are kind and nice. I and my sis experienced to wear the samurai costume free of charge. Please ask staff if you...

The old fashioned exterior of this aquarium speaks of its long history; inside, you’ll find some 4,500 marine creatures comprised of 500 species. The aquarium displays both freshwater and seawater life. Many of the informational cards and posters in the aquarium were hand-written by the staff themselves. Visitors appreciate the easy-to-understand content. The aquarium also goes to efforts to routinely change the content of their exhibits. The cute sea lion shows are popular with adults as well as children.

An art museum which focuses on art relating to the local area but which also possesses pieces from international artists. Visitors can view School of Paris, Mexican Renaissance, and modern art. The museum also displays works by Amedeo Modigliani and Marc Chagall. The museum is located inside Shirakawa Park, where visitors can view modern sculptures by artists such as Isamu Noguchi. The museum has a library and coffee shop. The museum shop offers original merchandise such as prints of Amedeo Modigliani’s Girl with Pigtails, a piece in the museum’s collection.

An amusement park and adjoining zoo. The amusement park features over 30 rides, including ones for small children. Seasonal events are held here and in summer the Paradise of Water Monpuru pool and waterpark is open to visitors. On weekdays only, visitors can take commemorative photos with park mascots. The park’s restaurants serve giant deep-fried shrimp, a Nagoya specialty, as well as an abundant menu of other items. A gate in the park leads to the adjoining zoo where you can see monkeys from around the world. Note that a separate entry fee is required for the zoo.

This review is mainly for the expat community. The Monkey Park is an excellent day trip if you have small children. Years back, the park had a few rides more suitable for older children but sadly...

This walking path, which runs from the east side of Tokoname Station on the Meitetsu Airport Line and is brimming with history, has been chosen as one of “beautiful Japan’s top quasi 100 historical experiences.” There are two courses: the 1.6-kilometer A Course and 4-kilometer B Course. The A Course contains rows of workshops with brick chimneys and ovens, and the hilly section of the road utilizes discarded pottery materials. The B Course features an archive, a pottery research facility, and other such sites. Both are full of interesting sights and shopping opportunities.

Really nice and worth the walk It was a hot day, but I enjoy the Pottery Footpath and there were many people on that weekend.

Nittaiji Temple is located about 10 minutes on foot from Kakuozan Station. It was founded in 1904 to house the ashes of Buddha, which the Kingdom of Siam (now the Kingdom of Thailand) gave to Japan. It is the only temple in Japan that does not belong to any specific sect but represents all the sects. In the main hall is the gold-bronze statue of Shaka Nyorai (Tathagata), which was a national treasure of Thailand, and the ashes of Buddha are kept in the holy tower. On the 21st of every month approximately 100 stalls and throngs of people flock to the path leading up to the temple. It is also well-known as a place to see cherry blossom and azaleas.

They have market on 21th every month. Lots of food carts on side of street from the kakuozan subway station. Try little bit each as one portion is small and cheap!

There are also Japanese izakaya pubs here, and the mall is frequented by locals as well.

Similar to the country of Denmark, an advanced farming nation, the city of Anjo has come to serve as a model for farming across Japan. Accordingly, the city has gained the nickname, the “Denmark of Japan.” Denpark, a park filled with flowers and green plants, also boasts a variety of facilities, such as restaurants, shops, and play equipment. Here you can view and enjoy seasonal plants. Events based around various plants’ blooming seasons are also held here. In the park’s microbrew studio, you can sip Anjo City’s Den Beer. Aichi Areas

around-area-map

Aichi is a prefecture of great natural beauty with Nagoya city at its heart, a busy hub home to a labyrinth of underground shops and the 17th-century Nagoya Castle. Castles are easy to find in this history-rich prefecture, but the highlight for history buffs has to be the Museum Meiji-mura, where preserved buildings from the turn of the 20th century are displayed in all their grandeur in an outdoor museum.
