    This tourism facility, a 13 minute walk from Kami-Suwa Station, has a geyser which shoots sprays of water high into the air. The geyser, which first burst out of the ground in 1983, originally created spouts almost 50 meters tall, which made it the second tallest geyser in the world at the time. Today, it reaches around five meters tall, shooting out give to six jets every 90 minutes starting at 9:30 a.m. The adjoining building hosts a souvenir shop on the first floor and other facilities. The second floor exhibition space introduces movies and drams which were filmed in Suwa. The third floor Fireworks Museum displays pictures and materials relating to the fireworks shows held over Lake Suwa each year.

    以前は間欠泉からお湯が吹き出しているのが見れた気がしますが、久しぶりに訪問しましたが今では吹き上がらないようです。ちょろちょろと湧き出ている感じです。

    Located on Ogama Road, Ogama no Yu is one of the open-air baths in the Nozawa Onsen resort. These open-air baths have been protected by yunakama since the Edo period and still use 100% natural spring water. The baths are well maintained and always kept clean. This public bathhouse takes its spring water from the source in Ogama. It is said that the waters are good for people with diabetes, nerve pains, and rheumatism, etc.

    A 10-minute drive from the Komoro Interchange and a 15-minute drive from the Saku Interchange. This farm is located a short distance north from the Asama Sunline intersection. The farm's 15 thousand square meter grounds include a lavender garden with 10 thousand lavender plants. The scent of essential oils extracted at the farm's distillation plant can be smelled even from the parking area. In addition to lavender, the farm grows over 350 varieties of herbs and visitors can also enjoy the sight and smell of colorful flowers here. The adjoining La Terre cafe serves herbal teas and lavender soft serve ice cream.

    最高のタイミングで行けました。 薔薇、ポピー、ニゲラ、カモミールが咲き誇っていました。通路はチップ材が敷き詰めていて歩いていて気持ち良くなります。小諸駅の観光案内所で割引券をもらったので二割引で入場できました。また行きたい薔薇園です。

    A rose garden which grows some 3,000 plants spanning around 270 varieties on 8,851 square meter grounds sprawling on the side of a mountain. The garden is located a 30-minute drive on National Route 361 from the Ina Interchange on the Chuo Expressway. Visitors can view hybrids, floribunda, and other colorful roses, as well as the scenery of the Central Japan Alps from 830 meters above sea level. The teahouse on the grounds offers soft serve ice cream and herbal teas. Each year, the garden holds a rose festival in June when they begin to bloom. Additionally, the garden holds concerts, flamenco performances, and other shows, as well as classes on how to raise roses.

    A two hectare plum park sprawling on the bank of the Sai River. In spring, some 800 ryukyo koume plum trees come into bloom, filling the area with the fragrance of their blossoms. In most years, the trees bloom from late March to mid-April, and the Rokkaku Plum Park Flower Festival is held from late March to early April. During the festival, local agricultural products and specialty products are sold and events are held such as small concerts and a pleasure boat tour. Festival visitors can also enjoy Shinshushin-machi's famous jingisukan lamb barbecue.

    Located about 10 minutes by bus from Nakagome Station or about 20 minutes by car from the Saku Minami IC, this valley near Route 254 is a place where visitors can enjoy the magnificent nature with many strange and mysterious rocks such as Hime-Iwa, Napoleon-Iwa, Byobu-Iwa, and Candle-Iwa. The area is also a great place to enjoy the changing scenery of the four seasons, with peach blossoms in early May and cosmos in mid-September.

    奇岩の景勝地として知られていますが、駐車場や中心地がありません。 まあ、山の紅葉と岩肌なのでどこからでも見えるのですが、観光を楽しむとか散策をたのしむとかができるとよいかな。

    This spring belches white steam along the Shiga Kusatsu Kogen route. It has been designated a Natural Monument and is often referred to as “firefly hot spring” because of the fireflies that can be observed here, making for an enchanting sight.

    志賀高原の横手山スキー場から帰る際にあったので寄ってみた。 この周辺は硫黄の温泉エリアで、ほたる温泉というのがあって、そこの源泉になっている。と言ってニュージーランド・ロトルアの大噴泉みたくなっているか?といわれれば、ただ煙(水蒸気)が出ているだけと、その手前に温泉看板があるぐらい。 特に見るモノもない。駐車スペースが2台分がなんとかあるぐらい。

    This Yakushido temple is located on a small hill in an area called Katsuma sprawling on the south bank of Takato Lake. The temple enshrines a Buddhist statue with supposed miraculous powers said to have been carved by the great priest Gyoki., as well as statues of the twelve divine generals protecting it and thirteen Buddhist statues once the object of local folk belief. In addition, there are three large weeping cherries on the temple's grounds which notably begin flowering around the time the blossoms of the Kohigan-zakura cherries in Takato Castle Site Park begin to fall. The trees are said to have been planted during the Ansei era in the Edo period and are over 140 years old. Their stunning forms dominate the surrounding scenery and many flower viewing-lovers come here just to see them.

    "A large park built on a terrace beyond the Tenryu River travelling from JR Inakita Station. Facilities include tennis courts, baseball grounds, a pool, and playground equipment. The park is designed to be a space where everyone from children to senior citizens can enjoy sports and exercise. The park has also long been known as an excellent cherry blossom viewing destination, and during the blooming period in spring, many visitors come here to enjoy the sight of the park's nearly 300 Yoshino cherries and Kohigan-zakura cherry. Some of the park's many other highlights include the D51-209, a real locomotive, known to locals as ""Degoichi;"" and a stone monument dedicated to a song called ""Ina Bushi."""

    A 50-minute drive from the Shinshu-Nakano Interchange on the Joshin-Etsu Expressway. At Ishi no Yu in the Shiga Highlands, you can watch Genji fireflies, a large variety of firefly which only lives in Japan. One of only a few firefly varieties in the world to spend its larval stage, Genji fireflies are an essential part of summertime nights in the Shiga Highlands. The Iwakurazawa River in Ishi no Yu is known as the highest habitat for Genji fireflies in Japan. In recognition of its uniqueness, the area was designated a National Natural Monument in 2008.

    Visitors to the area around the Nonomi Kogen Campground and Sakae Club Ski Area close to the Akiyama Onsen hot spring district can view Genji fireflies. The fireflies can be seen from late June to late July. The surrounding area is occupied by farming families, so visitors are asked to be mindful and avoid entering farm fields. Sakae Village has been selected as an Important Mountain Village for the Conservation of Biodiversity in order to preserve its excellent waterside, paddy, and marsh environments, and the village also engages in activities to promote firefly breeding.

    "A six-minute walk from the Shirahone Onsen Tourist Information Center. This rock tunnel can be seen on the upper reaches of the river from the suspension bridge past Ryujin Falls. ""Yu"" means ""hot water"" or ""hot spring,"" and as the name of the Yu River implies, its waters contain an abundance of the same minerals found in the hot springs of Shirahone Onsen; this tunnel is presumed to have been carved out of the rock over countless years by the river's swift current. The limestone rock tunnel is six meters tall and 20 meters long. People are not allowed into the tunnel, but visitors can enjoy the stunning natural scenery of the tunnel and its surroundings from close by. Erosion control construction was conducted in 2018 due collapse and flood risks."

    A 70-minute drive from Matsumoto Station. One of Shirahone Onsen's most scenic destinations, there are actually two locations, one on the right side in front of the Shirahone Grand Hotel, and one behind the Katsura no Yu Maruei Ryokan inn. The mineral deposits accumulated over countless years near areas where the calcium carbonate-rich waters of Shirahone Onsen burst forth. The globular shaped limestone formations, formed by layers and layers of dust hardening into stone, are extremely rare and were designated a National Natural Monument in 1952.

    A 90-minute bus ride from Shinshimashima Station and a one-hour drive from the Matsumoto Interchange. The Shirahone Onsen hot spring district is located on the northern side of Nagano Prefecture close to the border with Gifu Prefecture and is an excellent place to enjoy fall foliage. The best part is that you can enjoy the sight of mountains dyed orange, green, gold, and red and then enjoy a hot spring bath. In most years, the best time to see the foliage is from early to mid-October; the area's Katsura trees start changing color a little earlier. The scenery around Ryujin Falls and the Yukawa valley is particularly spectacular and these areas are recommended walking destinations.
