Located on Ogama Road, Ogama no Yu is one of the open-air baths in the Nozawa Onsen resort. These open-air baths have been protected by yunakama since the Edo period and still use 100% natural spring water. The baths are well maintained and always kept clean. This public bathhouse takes its spring water from the source in Ogama. It is said that the waters are good for people with diabetes, nerve pains, and rheumatism, etc.

Unlike some other onsens with lions head spouts or water trickling from rock facades, this has a simple spout. It is definitely no-frills, but still has the 100yen refundable valuable locker and...

    Yamanouchi cho, Shimokitai-gun, Nagano Prefecture
This spring belches white steam along the Shiga Kusatsu Kogen route. It has been designated a Natural Monument and is often referred to as “firefly hot spring” because of the fireflies that can be observed here, making for an enchanting sight.

"A park located a three-minute drive from the Shinanomachi Interchange. Visitors will find a variety of facilities dedicated to the great Japanese poet Kobayashi Issa, including the ingeniously designed Issa Memorial Museum; the Haikaiji Temple, which was built in 1910; and stone monuments inscribed with Issa's poems. The park's rear garden, which leads to the graveyard, has a still and elegant atmosphere and is particularly beautiful in fall when the leaves change color. The park is famous for the Issa Festival held each year on May 5th on the date of Issa's birthday, and the park bustles with people of all ages during this time. In Utagaoka Park, located on the park grounds, visitors can find a monument inscribed with ""Shinano no Kuni,"" the official poem of the prefecture. In addition, the park offers fantastic, sweeping views of Nagano City."

Many people wishing to meet Grandma Oume from the film come here from across the country."

"This Buddhist temple's history stretches back to the Kamakura period; after repeated changes to its name, denomination, and location, it came to settle in its current location in 1604. The temple served as the model for the Rengeji Temple appearing in Toson Shimazaki's novel ""The Broken Commandment,"" and a monument on the grounds is inscribed with the book's first chapter. The temple complex was damaged during the Great Fire of Iiyama and only the original Rokkakudo hall stands today."
