    This research facility engages in protection and raising of Japan's national butterfly, the omurasaki (great purple emperor). A greenhouse has been made to recreate the forest habitat of omurasaki, so you can observe them year-round. The facilities include a six hectare park, with nature-viewing forest, viewing pond, an experience farm, and a lawn square. A variety of events are held each season, particularly butterfly-watching events.

    続・100名城のスタンプ保管場所です。 駐車場もありますが、住宅地なのでちょっとわかりにくい場所にあります。 館内は見所が少ないですが、新府城の説明などスタッフの方が親切に教えてくれたので有意義な滞在でした。

    宿あり、レストランあり、温泉あり、カフェあり、土産屋さんあり、廃校を利用した施設とは思えないほど、なんでもそろっています。中央道から八ヶ岳エリアに抜ける途中にあるのでぜひ利用したいところです。

    長坂ICから車で数分。北杜市は合併してできた街なので、隣の長坂にも郷土資料館がありますが、こちらは考古資料館という名前になっています。 カーナビでは谷戸城ふるさと歴史館と出ました。谷戸城址の隣に建っています。 古墳時代中心で、徳川家康までです。土器や土偶がたくさん展示されています。 個人ならば写真撮影自由でした。
