    Displaying the collection of Ikuo Hirayama-who maintained a number of works deeply connected to the Silk Road-the Hirayama Ikuo Silk Road Museum gives you an up-close sense of its culture and art, with works like prehistoric pottery, tomb figures, inlaid glass beads called tombo-dama, and textiles with clear western influence. Also, they host a rich variety of limited-time events.

    While visiting this beautiful area and enjoying the views and autumn foliage we visited the museum. To see the art of this Japanese legend in such a lovely setting was a great part of our tour.

    Designated as a National Natural Monument in 1922, and chosen as one of Japan's New 100 Best Trees, the Yamataka Jindai-zakura cherry is in Jissoji Temple, whose historical buildings were all lost due to two fires. However, it does feature the Jindai-zakura cherry-over 2000 years old-which blooms beautifully every peak season in early April, much to the delight of hanami visitors. Also, in the vast precincts, you will find 30 cherry trees ages 50 to 100, and roughly 100,000 daffodils and tulips planted in the flower garden.

    2023年は、各地の桜は異例の速さで満開を迎えましたが実相寺の桜も03月下旬が見ごろでした。訪問したのは平日の昼前でしたが周辺の駐車場はほぼ満車状態でした。駐車料金は500円が中心で一部400円のところもありました。山高神代桜も頑張って 咲いていました。水仙畑とのコラボレーションも魅力も一つです。

    This art museum is located Nirasaki City, Yamanashi Prefecture. The museum exhibits some 1,800 paintings, carvings, and ceramics collected Nirasaki City native, organic chemist, and honorary Joshibi University of Art and Design chairperson Satoshi Omura. The exhibits include many works by graduates of Women's Academy of Fine Arts, the predecessor of Joshibi University of Art and Design.

    You’ll find this music box museum in Kiyosato, Takane Town along the Kiyosato Line (National Route 141). In addition to antique music boxes, they have automatic instruments and traditional Japanese tableware. Through the exhibits here, you can experience the life and culture of the period before the advent of records and radio.

    廃墟化?下清里駅前から、気分転換に、オルゴール博物館に初めて入館す。河口湖にもあるが、今回、入場料千円と高いが、説明員の説明、古い大仕掛けのオルゴールの生演奏、我々二人で、30分余、まったりとした至福の時間を過ごさせてもらい感謝す。帰りに、女房殿に、カメオの宝石いれオルゴール箱を、気分がいいのでプレゼントする大盤振る舞いです。久しぶりに、生の音楽を聴いて、女房殿も満足のようでした。

    This art museum is themed around picture books of the world. Their main collection displays works from British picture book artist Errol Le Cain, and the exhibition has a variety of displays related to picture books. They also have a cafe where you can read picture books at your leisure, and a fully stocked museum shop. The museum is closed in winter.

    "This farmer's residence built in 1709 is located about a 30-minute walk from the Furuichiba Bus Stop or the Ichigenjaya Bus Stop. The Ando family is an old family that served as the chiefs of Nishinago Village for generations. The home is an incredibly valuable building that offers insights into the life of wealthy farmers in the late Edo Period. The main building, which features a thatched Irimoya-style roof, has been preserved just as it was centuries ago. It as well as the front gate, earthen storehouse, tearoom, central gate, and wooden fence have all been designated as national Important Cultural Properties. Yokosawa-bina, a style of hina doll unique to Yamanashi, are displayed with other hina doll collection at the residence during the ""Ando-ke Jutaku Hinamatsuri (Doll Festival)"" held there each spring."

    This museum dedicated to the subject of mountain culture and nature is located about a 30-minute drive from Shirane Interchange on the Chubu-Odan Expressway. Its missions since opening in 2003 have been discovering, researching, and passing down mountain culture, promoting natural conservation and mountaineering safety, and realizing a variety of exchanges mediated by the mountains. The museum features an area where visitors can watch real time footage of Mt. Kita, an area with a collection of books on the subject of mountains, an area where visitors can sit around a sunken hearth and listen to a storyteller, and more. There is also an area that introduces the local Yamanashi wood used to build the museum.

    芦安温泉郷内の宿に宿泊したら、無料券をいただいたので、翌朝行ってみました。施設はとてもきれいで広い。南アルプスについてのビデオ上映もやっていたり、山で命を落とした方の特集をしていたり。登山に必要な道具が昔-現代にかけて展示してあり、登山の知識や歴史がよくわかり、南アルプスの地形の大きな模型があるので、登山道など立体的でわかり易い。地図やパンフレットも無料でもらえる。

    These castle ruins in now Nakada-machi, Nirasaki City, were the site of the Takeda clan's last castle. This culmination of the Koshu style of castle architecture that represents the Takeda clan was tragically burned down by its lord Takeda Katsuyori only 68 days after it was built during an attack by Oda Nobunaga's forces. Today, only the castle's moat, embankment, and a few other elements remain. Shinpu Fujitake Shrine located near the site of the inner citadel is known for its beautiful cherry blossoms every spring.

    This shrine is located in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. It was built in 1985 by the Misogi-kyo sect of the Shinto religion as a revival of its Inoue Shrine in Higashi-Ueno, Tokyo that was lost in 1974. Yamanashi Prefecture was chosen as the location due to its high number of sect members. The Noh theater located on the temple grounds is known for being the venue for concerts by the folk duo Yuzu.

    This art museum is located about a five-minute drive from Shirane Interchange or Minami-Alps Interchange on the Chubu-Odan Expressway. It features a collection of nihonga (Japanese-style paintings), book illustrations, book designing and binding, and other works. The collection has a particular focus on the yakusha-e (kabuki actor pictures) of Natori Shunsen, a painter born in Ogasahara, Minami-Alps City. The collection also features numerous works of artists with a connection to the region who were contemporaries of Shunsen as well as contemporary artists. The museum also holds genreless exhibitions that celebrate freedom of expression. It also offers a rental gallery in the form of its Citizen's Gallery and conducts a variety of educational programs and other events targeted at people of all ages.

    甲府からバスで40分、片道¥650かけてミロ展を見に行った。 小さな田舎の美術館であるが、体温測定、住所TEL記入、アルコール消毒と感染対策。 荷物は受付で預かってもらえる。

    "The Paul Rusch Memorial Museum is devoted to the memory of Professor Paul Rusch, known as ""the father of the Kiyosato Educational Experiment Project"" (KEEP) and ""the father of American football in Japan."" In addition to valuable documents dating from the beginnings of Rusch's project, there is also an exhibition hall devoted to the history of American football in Japan. The house where Rusch spent his last years has been preserved and is open to the public, and it shows photographs of Rusch taken during his lifetime."

    A fairy tale museum in Kobuchizawa Town, Yamanashi Prefecture. Come meet the works of Higashi Kunpei, a well-known author of children's stories who passed away prematurely. Sink into the world of the stories as simple nostalgic inducing black and white illustrations and picture book drawings are presented on display with the text that accompanies them in the stories. The museum shop offers a number of goods that can't be found anywhere else including stuffed toys of picture book characters and calendar prints.

    アットホームな感じで美術館と言うより、 君平さんのお宅におじゃましているような感じです。 前庭の花達が訪れた私達に優しさを分けてくれます。 また行きたい❣️

    The Kiyosato Porcelain Museum opened in 1997 to showcase various porcelain specimens from the 16th century until modern times, with a focus on German-born “Meissen porcelain” and its over 300 years of history. You’ll find many exquisitely beautiful articles on display. The stairwell between the first and second floors contains four panes of stained glass that are a must-see. The closest station is JR Kiyosato Station.

    清里駅から近いミュージアムでコレクターさんが集めたマイセンの作品が展示されていて素晴らしいものばかりでため息が出ました。

    The museum, a 10-minute drive from the Sudama Interchange on the Chuo Expressway, exhibits Buddhist paintings by Gen Adachihara, a female Buddhist painter who passed away at the age of 86. The museum also has a collection of about 700 masks from around the world on display, and by reservation, visitors can try their hand at making a Buddhist painting from a sketch.

  • Takeda Hachimangu Shrine

    A shrine that's a 15-minute drive from Nirasaki Interchange or a 20-minute bus ride from Nirasaki Station. It was established in 822 when the mausoleum shrine for the Takeda lord was relocated and merged with the Kyushu Usa-jingu Shrine. It served as the patron deity for the Kai region Takeda family and when Takeda Shingen took over from his farther,Takeda Nobutora, he rebuilt the shrine into its current Takeda Hachimangu state. The Shingen Ko Festival is held from the Friday before April 12th, the date of his death, until the following Sunday and draws large crowds. Another festival held in October features traditional Shinto Kagura music and dancing, mikoshi portable shrines, and numerous stalls.

    "A gallery located about a five-minute drive from JR Kiyosato Station. It opened in 2003. Displays include original illustration by picture book illustrator Ken Kuroi. They also have a copy of his first work ""Boku no Machi"" which is now out of print and ""Gongitsune"" which is considered a turning point of the author. There is also a workshop on the grounds and sometimes the author himself is present. On those occasions a signing event is held where he will sign your picture books."

    An art museum located about five-minutes from the Kobuchizawa Interchange on the Chuo Expressway. The museum exhibits will introduce you to picture books by popular authors both domestic and foreign and the permanent exhibit includes a photo exhibition introducing the life of Tasha Tudor as well as displays of picture books and original drawings from Western countries. Small dogs can be brought into the museum so long as they are held or in a carrier case. Medium and larger size pets can be brought into the terrace space. In the Select Shop you can purchase original goods as well as translated picture books from around the world. With free tea and coffee offered you can relax and immerse yourself in the world of picture books.

    An art museum located a five-minute drive from the Kobuchisawa Interchange on the Chuo Expressway. The museum displays a variety of artworks created based on the theme of peace. The museum's standing exhibition includes sculptures by Kathe Kollwitz and copperplate engravings by Mieczyslaw Koscielniak. The museum also holds special exhibitions several times a year featuring works by artists such as Sadao Watanabe and Kimiko Shikama. A pipe organ is located in exhibition room one which is used for performances and other events. There's also a coffee room where visitors can take a quiet break.

    "A five-minute walk from Kai-Koizumi Station. Standing in the middle of a forest, this art museum has a round Chinese gate and three distinctive round windows representing the sun, moon, and Earth. The museum displays from four to 50 pieces of a roughly 2,000-piece collection primarily consisting of works by Taiun Yanagida, the third generation of a family of calligraphers which includes Tairoku Yanagida and late Edo-period Confucian calligrapher Yanagida Shosai. Highlights include highly artistic konshi-kondei works consisting of calligraphy written with gold paint on navy paper, and ""Hakken no Ki"" and other pieces in a hologram calligraphy series. The first and second floors are occupied by exhibition rooms, while the third floor is a training and instruction room. An arbor, supported by four crimson-lacquered pillars, stands on the museum's balcony."
