    A museum established in 1990 which presents the history and folk customs of Ryugasaki. The museum's exhibits include a mockup of the Tsukumai, a traditional event which has been designated an Intangible Folk Cultural Property by Ibaraki Prefecture; videos; and information on folk art and lifestyles in the region from prehistory to the present day. The museum also holds a variety of educational events and activity programs like cloth weaving using a loom and dying fabrics with plant-based dyes.

    龍ヶ崎の歴史について展示されています。普通の資料館で大きくはありませんが、無料で気軽に入れるのが良い所です。

    A museum built on the site of the Kamitakatsu Shell Mound a 20-minute walk from the last stop on the JR Bus Kanto bound for Aeon Mall Tsuchiura leaving from JR Tsuchiura Station in Ibaraki Prefecture. A recreation of a Jomon period village based on excavations of the mound stands in a park adjoining the museum building and the shell mound fault plane sprawling along a slope in the park is also maintained as an exhibit. The museum itself uses videos and dioramas to introduce the Jomon period and the results of shell mound archeological excavations. The museum also offers interactive lessons and lectures on the field of archeology.

    夏休みに夜の虫を観察するイベントに参加しました。 セミが脱皮するところや蛍、カブトムシやクワガタムシなどいろいろ見ることができ、子供たちは大喜びしていました。 また行きたいです。

    A literature museum in Chuo-cho 3-Chome, Koga City. It has a permanent exhibition featuring items and materials related to literati with ties to Koga City, such as the historical novelist Nagai Michiko and the mystery writer Kobayashi Kyuzo. There is also a lecture hall and a salon that can be used for concerts.

    A museum adjoining the childhood home of Ujo Noguchi, known as one of Japan's three greatest children's song writers alongside Hakushu Kitahara and Yaso Saijo. The two-story wooden building standing on a hill commanding a view of the Isohara coast; was damaged by the tsunami resulting from the Great East Japan Earthquake but was restored in 2013. Inside the museum, visitors can view exhibits containing rare items such as manuscripts and hanging scrolls penned in Noguchi's own hand while he was alive.

    リニューアルしました。第二展示室では北茨城の歴史関係資料や炭鉱の資料などを展示してます。入館料は一般320円です。

    "A museum in Isohara, Isohara-cho, Kitaibaraki City. Noguchi Ujo was a poet known for writing the lyrics to folk songs and children's songs such as Shabondama (Soap Bubbles) and Nanatsunoko (Seven Little Babies). This is his childhood home and it has displays of some of his important items. It is also called “Kankaitei"" (ocean viewing house) because of its location overlooking the Isohara sea. Tokugawa Mitsukuni, of the lord of the Mito Domain, is believed to have stayed there."

    ＪＲ磯原駅から徒歩少し歩いた場所にあります。駅から案内はありませんが、見つけることはできました。館内の方が簡単に説明してくれます。また、震災の津波で建物の一部分が床上浸水になったそうですが補修済みです。 民謡で有名な野口雨情さんについて 写真などで知ることができました〇

    A long-standing shop which sells Nishinouchi washi Japanese paper, a craft designated a Prefectural and National Intangible Cultural Property. The shop sells Nishinouchi washi and finished goods and also operates as a museum with exhibits on Nishinouchi washi and handmade papers from around the world. Nishinouchi washi is a high quality, sturdy paper made with Nasu kozo (paper mulberry) and was once valued as a monopoly good of the former Mito Domain. The facility offers papermaking demonstrations and sukie paper art classes (advance reservation required), making it easy for visitors to experience the world of this traditional craft.

    漉き絵を体験してその作品を後から家まで送ってもらいました。中は充実の和紙の博物館のようですが、いろいろな製品を買うこともできます。 漉き絵は集中力がいりますが絵心のある人には楽しい体験です。

    One of the best spots to visit in Tsukuba. This is a museum on the site of JAXA (the Japanese equivalent of NASA). There is a lot to learn here. There is a decent cafe and a nice gift shop, too.

    県道３６号本山トンネル脇。ケータイカーナビ今一不案内。日立鉱山、ひいては日立の歴史が良く分かる施設。入場無料と太っ腹。受付で検温、住所氏名の記帳が求められます。遠方からの訪問と分かると係員のリアクションが大。創業者あて孫文の書簡が展示されていましたが、日本語の達筆さにビックリ。大人の社会化学習に充分耐えうる施設です。

    旅館だった建物を笠間市が交流館として整備した建物。無料でざっくりと笠間市の歴史が学べます。笠間稲荷神社で結婚式を挙げた坂本九さん夫妻の写真が展示されていました。

    常陸太田駅から徒歩15分。入館無料。 古い公会堂を思わせる建物は1936年に太田町役場として建てられたもので国の登録有形文化財に指定されている。太田出身の実業家・梅津福次郎の寄付金によって建てられたため「梅津会館」という名が付けられている。展示室は1階のみで2階は貸出スペースとなっているため見学者は立ち入り不可。太田城の出土品、梅津福次郎に関する資料などが展示されているがその数は少ない。郷土資料よ...

    もと行員寮があった所に、常陽銀行が作った地域密着型のミニ図書館です。こじんまりとした展示スペースがあり、年に数回、地元に関連した人や生活関連の展示が行われます。月曜休館で、入場は無料。駐車場も１０台分あります。さすがに金融関連の資料が多いのですが、郷土関連の資料も多く揃っています。静かに調べものができます。

    旧庁舎の建物を利用されているとの事で雰囲気はとても良いです。木の造り、階段など趣がとてもあります。 展示されている品々も大変興味深く、再訪したいと思いました。

    泉坂下遺跡から出土した土器などが展示されていました。 特に人面付き土器は弥生時代のもので、再葬墓から出土するものだそうです。遥かに遠い過去の人の営みに触れ大変興味深く見学出来ました。

    自家用車で行きました。常設展示は３室あり、Ⅰ室は歴史として市内の貝塚や古墳等、遺跡からから出土した遺物を展示、説明も詳しかったので地理的な事も含め、どのように治められていたのかもわかりました。Ⅱ室は昔の農工具と水害や、治水工事についてのパネル展示、Ⅲ室は阿波崎出身で江戸時代に活躍した横綱と相撲にまつわる展示がありました。国技館に掲げられていた「千代の富士」の優勝記念額も見られました。外には横綱の像...

    田中嘉三は、笠間で生まれ笠間で生涯を閉じた日本画家。その遺作を展示する施設です。仏像をモチーフにした作品が印象的で、素直なタッチが心地よい。 ただ、施設の中はもうちょっと整理したほうがいいかなと思います。
