This bath spot mixes hospitality and familiarity. The crystal clear hot spring water type is mildly alkaline, and is said to be effective for muscle soreness, nerve pain, frozen shoulders, and joint pain. The first floor also holds a tourist information office, foot bath, and drinking spring, and has become a symbol of the town of Unazuki. They also sell face towels, toothbrushes, mini-soap, and brushes for use in the bath.

    宇奈月温泉にある共同浴場。宇奈月温泉駅から徒歩で5分ほど。駅近で、列車の時間まちで利用しました。とてもきれいな施設で、浴室も広いです。休憩スペースも充実しています。

"This natural day-use hot spring offers a view of Kurobe Gorge and Lake Unazuki. The baths all use pure Kuronagi hot spring water of mildly alkaline simple spring water quality, which has the nickname ""beautiful skin water."" The water is believed to have properties to help relieve neuralgia and beautify skin. They have outdoor and indoor baths, both of which offer fantastic views of Kurobe Gorge's beautiful scenery."

This foot bath is in one corner of Unazuki Park. This footbath was built in 2003, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Unazuki Onsen's opening, and uses mildly alkaline simple spring water. The shelter has benches, and the foot bath bottom is made with natural stones from the Kurobe river. Located about a five-minute walk from Unazuki Onsen Station, it's filled with refreshing breezes.

The springs of this hot spring area were first tapped in 1923 and its hot spring hall was built in 1964. The waters of the area’s colorless, alkaline simple springs are known for being gentle on and beautifying the skin. Visitors can find hotels and ryokan inns in the town area as well as a public bathhouse with a footbath, hot spring water fountain, and tourist information center, and many people stop by here while visiting Kurobe Gorge. Visitors to this popular hot spring destination can also enjoy food made with fresh, seasonal ingredients and the bounties of Toyama Bay. Although the area’s trolley train stops operating at the end of November, a variety of winter events are held here, including a Snow Carnival and a fireworks display over the snow.

Toyama Areas

around-area-map

Toyama is one of the three prefectures that house the Japanese Alps, with its southern and eastern borders comprising one long stretch of mountains, out of which the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is forged. While traditional crafts fill the northern coastal cities of Toyama and Takaoka, thatched roof houses offer unrivalled views against a backdrop of fantastic scenery at Gokayama in the mountainous area in the south of the prefecture.
