This well-known cherry blossoms viewing site is located in Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo County. Approximately 150 yoshino cherry blossom trees bloom along a 600 meter stretch of the Hayakawa River bank in early April during the Sakura Festival. Many cherry blossoms viewers visit during this time. At night cherry blossoms are lit up, one is enveloped in an ethereal fantasy world that must be experienced and enjoyed.

Visited on 16 April, just around peak blossom time. It was gorgeous. Very good number of Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms along the riverside, not crowded and generally very pleasant place. Parallel...

Ookagawa River Promenade, a famous spot for viewing cherry blossoms, is a tree-lined promenade in Yokohama's Minami Ward that consists of 500 Yoshino cherry trees, and it attracts many visitors during the blossom season. At night, the promenade is illuminated by traditional bonbori lamps, so that people can enjoy the blossoms even after dark. In addition, the Minami Ward Cherry Blossom Festival is held during the blossom season, featuring carnival booths and stalls that sell produce.

Okurayama Park is a municipal park located in Yokohama's Kohoku Ward. The park contains 150 plum trees of 20 varieties, so it is a famous spot for viewing plum blossoms, attracting many visitors for blossom viewing parties during the season.

Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
