    A Buddhist temple located in 2-Chome Fudooka, Kazo City. Built on the order of Emperor Koko, the temple's principal object of worship is a statue of Acala, and the temple is counted as one of the three great Acala temples of the Kanto region alongside the Naritasan Shinshoji Temple and the Takahata Fudoson Kongo-ji Temple. The temple's Setsubun celebration, held each year on February 3, boasts a history dating back some 400 years and attracts many visitors.

    元和２年に總願上人によって開基されたお寺だそうで、160年以上前から続く大護摩焚きの行事は、秋の盛大なお祭りらしい。

    A temple with a long history said to have building in 1258 during the mid-Kamakura period. It is the only remaining Honzan School Shugen ascetic practice Temple in Kasukabe City. The temple is famous for its seven Buddhist statues carved by master carver Enku. The statues include a standing statue of Kannon, a standing statue of the Fudo Myoo, a standing statue of Bishamonten, a statue of En no Gyoja seated on a stool, a standing statue of Zao Gongen, a statue of Toku-Yaksha Myoujin, and one of Gobo-Dai-Zenjin.

    草加駅から徒歩10分ほど。 1606年創建の真言宗智山派の寺院。本尊は阿弥陀如来。本堂は1824年の再建で、当初は藁葺きであったが明治時代に瓦葺きに改修。境内には市の指定文化財となっている山門と鐘楼、趣のある不動堂が建つ。墓地には草加宿を開き、当寺を創建した大川図書の墓がある。

    越谷の「レイクタウン」へ買い物に行った際に、北越谷駅から徒歩でアクセス可能な「浄光寺」へ訪問してきました。 本堂はもちろんですが、「薬師堂」や歴史を感じる山門など、なかなか見ごたえのある寺院でした。

    山門をくぐると、清潔 清廉 清浄 な空気が張り詰めているお寺です。観光地と呼んで良いのかと気になるくらいです。 光明寺の本尊である阿弥陀如来立像が有名ですがそれ以外にも、小さいが気持ちのいい庭園と、浄土宗の宗祖法然上人の銅像、太子堂、鐘楼、乳母観音などがあり、春には桜も見事でした。

    雅楽の湯の帰り、湯冷ましを兼ねて東武動物公園駅まで歩いて帰る際に立ち寄りました。 目の前の旧・日光街道沿いから見ると単なる普通の神社なのです。 しかし境内に入ると、毘沙門天像や六地蔵尊、馬頭観音といった像がたくさんありました。 また、一瞬チャペルかと間違えそうになった観音堂があります。 (2018年度グッドデザイン賞を受賞しています) 隠れた名所というのは、このような場所をいうのだと思います。

    始まりは室町時代ともいわれている、とても歴史のあるお寺です。山門も大変立派で趣があり参道に続きます。この山門は市の有形文化財にも指定されているので、見ごたえがあります。バスで20分くらいかかるのであまりアクセスはよくないです。

    旧日光街道に面したところにある寺院。山門の説明文を読むと越谷市の指定文化財とのこと。越谷市内の江戸時代初期の建物としては貴重なものだそうだ。本堂の方へ行こうと思ったら山門に「檀家とその関係者以外の方のお参りは門のところまで」の立て札が立っていたので、あきらめた。

    大きなお寺ではないですが、創建は古く１３００年代と言われています。山門が立派でその先にすぐ本堂が見えます。双方とも平成になってからの建造物でお寺の建造物としてはまだ新しいです。ごく一般的なお寺で両脇が墓地になっています。駅から少し遠いいですが、歩いても行けます。

    車窓から大きなイチョウがみえたので立ち寄りました。 イチョウは近づくと二股の巨木で、ほかにカリンやサルスベリもありました。 境内の片隅に石塔婆があったりして、なかなか楽しめました。
